v7.0.0
UI Kit v7 is a major release that completes the move to Pentaho. Packages now ship under the @pentaho/* scope, Pentaho is the only theme, and the NEXT and v5 compatibility layers have been retired — leaving a smaller, more consistent API.
Breaking changes
Packages — everything moved from @hitachivantara/* to @pentaho/*. uikit-react-pentaho and uikit-react-lab were consolidated into uikit-react-widgets, which exports HvCanvas and HvDashboard; the remaining lab components have no replacement. uikit-react-icons is internal from v7 and slated for deprecation — see Icons for using your own icon set.
Theming — the NEXT theme is gone, along with the NEXT colors, the v5 compatibility palette and the v5 theme extensions. The Pentaho theme identifier is now pentaho rather than pentahoPlus, which also affects anything keyed on the data-theme attribute. The default body font is Inter, and the Pentaho overrides have moved into the components themselves.
Components — deprecated components (HvCarousel, HvStack, HvSimpleGrid and others) were removed, as were deprecated props and style classes. Most had been marked deprecated during v6, but some were not and a clean v6 build won't flag them.
Internals — core and widgets moved from @mui/base to @base-ui/react, and HvGrid now wraps the latest MUI Grid API. Both are transparent for most consumers, but worth revalidating if you have deep style overrides or test selectors coupled to internal markup.
