Hume Launcher 7.8 brings a new Continue Watching, apps' own rows in the carousel, a Home button that opens Hume without adb, Start with the TV, a Motion & Sound setting, an Apple-style weather pill and a clearer first-time setup. It includes 7.7, which wasn't released on its own.

Continue Watching

• Reads the Watch Next lists your apps publish (JioHotstar, Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, Jellyfin and others).
  • Each card shows the show, season and episode, time left, and Up Next / New episodes.
  • ▶ Resume opens the episode itself.
• Works on low-memory TVs, where the old Continue Watching couldn't.
• Needs Android TV 8 or later and one permission (Android's own prompt). Setup and Settings say so on older TVs.
• What shows: one card per show, nothing under 10 minutes, and titles drop off when finished (95% or the last 2 minutes) or after 60 days.
• Hold OK (or Menu) → Remove hides a card until you watch it again.

Apps' own rows in the carousel

• What YouTube, Apple TV, Prime Video, Stremio and other apps publish for the home screen (Recommended for you…), with ▶ Open going straight to the item.
• Order: Continue Watching first, then one app item for every two recommendations or news stories. A title shows only once.
• Fair share: up to two items per app, taken in turn across apps. Which items show changes every two hours.
• Hold OK → Don't show here.
• Settings → Top Shelf now has a switch for every source: Continue Watching, From Your Apps, Recommendations and News.

Home button and Start with the TV

• Home button opens Hume, even on Google TV, without disabling the TV's own launcher. Turn on Hume's switch (setup offers it, or Settings → Home).
• Start with the TV (Settings → Home): open an app or an input such as HDMI 1 when the TV starts, or also whenever it wakes from standby.

Motion & Sound

• Motion: Full, Reduced or Off, in Settings → Home → Motion & Sound or the new Control Center tile.
• New Apple-style animation: items cascade in (app grid, Control Center, profiles, Settings, setup), and the carousel artwork slowly drifts closer.
• Sounds: the switch (Control Center or Settings) now silences every sound in Hume, including Android's own clicks, and you no longer hear double clicks.

Look and feel

• Weather pill: redesigned in the style of Apple's current widgets, with a flat symbol, one clear temperature, and the place over the condition. It's only as wide as it needs to be.
• First-time setup: choices and moving on are now separate.
  • Back and Continue are buttons under the options.
  • Each option shows whether it's a switch, a pick-one, or a permission with its state ("Allow ›", "✓ Allowed").
• Carousel: Left/Right always browse. Switching is instant even right after Refresh, and Refresh keeps showing the current items until new ones arrive.

Fixes

• An app updating in the background no longer pulls focus out of the carousel.
• Settings keeps focus on the row you just changed.

Hume Launcher 7.6 adds Search and Stremio recommendations.

Search

• New Search button beside Control Center. Shortcuts: hold Back for 1 second on any remote, the Search key on remotes that have one, or type on a USB/Bluetooth keyboard (/, Ctrl+F, Ctrl+K or any letter).
• Apps, settings ("wifi", "bluetooth") and TV inputs match instantly, with no internet.
• Movies & TV on every streaming service in India, including Hindi and regional titles. Searches typed in Hindi work too (पंचायत → Panchayat). Each poster shows the logos of the services that have it.
• How to Watch: one button per app. ▶ Open in … for apps you have goes straight to the title where the app allows it. Get … opens the app's Play Store page. Each button is marked Subscription, Free, Rent or Buy. Services are matched to apps automatically, so new services work without an update.
• Dictation: press the mic beside the search field. Where the TV has Google's voice service, words appear as you speak (Android asks for the microphone the first time); otherwise the TV's voice prompt is used.
• Keyboard: a–z, 123 and Hindi letters (अआ). Before you type, Search shows your recent searches and what's trending.

Stremio recommendations

• Settings → Top Shelf → Source → Stremio: Stremio's popular movies and series, no setup.
• ▶ Open opens the title in Stremio, or in Nuvio when only Nuvio is installed.
