A Slackware installer ISO with hardware support for M1/M2 Macs, using Slackware AArch64's own kernel.

The tree vs upstream aarch64:

  • Slackware's 6.18.33 kernel with Asahi's Apple SoC delta rebased onto it & config extended to Asahi's driver set
  • 18 added packages plus rebuilds of stock mesa and pipewire to configure options
  • 7 carried patches alongside Asahi's verbatim 21-patch U-Boot series
  • 4 installer patches including one boot-loader dialog screen and a GRUB template, plus the package checklists regenerated to match
  • 3 port-specific tools: firmware installer, grub installer, installation checker
  • 1 pre-install firmware harvest script to be run in macOS

Assets

  • slackware-aarch64-mac.7z.001 – .003: the installer ISO, split for GitHub's size cap. Download all three into one folder and open .001.
    ISO sha256: d33f956e0b0e6cabdd279fbf8c1e97cdd1345697a972ab2c96c05e6bbd64aaf4
  • efi_generic.7z.001 – .003, efi_generic.iso.asc, efi_generic.iso.md5: the pinned Slackware base (sha256 8a58bece68e69ea4a4ca64ebcd01ef61c35849fcc8fcea669df9daa987fea188), for rebuilding once upstream replaces it.
  • linux-6.18.33-mac.tar.gz: the kernel source, as the rebase produces it from Slackware's kernel-source and Asahi's tag. With this release's tree (its kernel patches and build scripts) it is the kernel's corresponding source (GPL-2), and a rebuild from the tree reproduces its sha256: d5bbd63b3351aa126ee9067407de6262d7a4f318300c7614d6f87df04c78844b
