  • Friends away from home can play together, over Tailscale. While the Tailscale app is
connected on the computer that plays, Play Together's invite and the phone controller / watch
panel offer This network | Tailscale above the QR code; the Tailscale link reaches your
computer from anywhere your friend's Tailscale does (sign them in to your tailnet, or share just
this computer with them). No PS5 payload needed. See the FAQ.
  • WireGuard and other VPNs too. The invite and phone controller panels also list the computer's
VPN addresses (a WireGuard server on it, say), so a friend on that VPN gets a link that works.
  • Links open in the PS5Upload app. A Play Together invite, a phone controller link or a watch
link opened in a browser first asks Open in the PS5Upload app?, the way Slack and Zoom links
do: the app opens with the invite filled in (Play › Join a friend) or as that computer's
controller, or you carry on in the browser, and can have it remember. Works on Windows, macOS,
Linux, Android and iOS (ps5upload:// links).
  • A friend's frozen picture comes back by itself (For #648). A guest whose connection hiccuped
could be left on a still picture until they reloaded the page: their player skipped to the next
keyframe but had no way to ask for one. It now asks (at most once a second), and the host's
engine passes the request to the PS5.
  • Scan QR asks for the camera. Join a friend's Scan QR on Android said "The camera didn't
open": the app never asked for the camera. It asks now, and if the camera is turned off it says
so with Try again and Open settings.
  • Hush 1.1.0's hold mode works with Play (For #651). Play no longer warns "Hush is on" while
Hush isn't holding the video encoder, and no longer turns game recording back on by pausing
Hush: in hold mode it waits for Hush to let go (a few seconds after a game starts). A patch Hush
left behind is named, with what clears it.
  • Pairing says what to check (For #642). When the PS5 doesn't answer pairing, the message now
names the two usual causes: Remote Play is off on the PS5, or the PIN didn't come from the PS5's
own Link Device screen (PINs from other tools don't work).
  • Detailed logs. A new switch in the Logs tab records much more about Remote Play's start
(the console's replies, each step's timing, retries) and Play Together (each guest's join,
resume and keyframe requests), for the hard cases like a console that keeps refusing. It turns
itself off after 24 hours, and never records keys, codes, tokens or passwords.
  • Bug reports cover every feature. A report now says what Remote Play, Play Together, phone
controllers and watch parties, Go live, saved connections, Hush, the cheats engine and
ps5upload:// links were doing (counts and states only), whether Detailed logs were on, and
how the last Remote Play start ended. It also no longer copies the Remote Play wake keys kept in
the mesh's console list, or the token part of links saved in settings.
  • No more "1e+218h left". During a long step that moves no bytes (a conversion's hashing pass),
the status bar's speed faded towards zero and showed nonsense like "2.2e-211 B/s · 1.4e+218h
left". A job that isn't moving bytes now shows no speed, and no time left over 30 days.
  • "No space" on a game's disk image says why. Changing files of a game run from an image
(.exfat, .ffpfs, .ffpkg) was refused with "only 0 bytes are safely allocatable" and nothing
more. The message now says the image is exactly as big as the game and how to change its files.
  • A NAS share typed with its folders works on the PS5's Shared Folders too. Typing the share
as Media/Games/PS5 (or pasting \\nas\Media\Games), as other PS5 tools take it, was refused as
"not a share name". The share is now the first name and the folders become the start folder,
as the app's own SMB sources already did.
  • The desktop app's declared minimum Rust version is now the one its code needs (1.87), so the
    build's lints match.
