== Welcome to Trax Trax is a web-application and persistance framework that includes everything needed to create database-backed web-applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern of separation. This pattern splits the view (also called the presentation) into "dumb" templates that are primarily responsible for inserting pre-build data in between HTML tags. The model contains the "smart" domain objects (such as Account, Product, Person, Post) that holds all the business logic and knows how to persist themselves to a database. The controller handles the incoming requests (such as Save New Account, Update Product, Show Post) by manipulating the model and directing data to the view. In Trax, the model is handled by what's called a object-relational mapping layer entitled Active Record. This layer allows you to present the data from database rows as objects and embellish these data objects with business logic methods. The controller and view is handled by the Action Controller == Requirements * Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc) (uses Pear::MDB2) * PHP 5.x * PEAR::MDB2, PEAR::Mail, PEAR::Mail_mime * Apache 1.3.x or 2.x * FreeBSD, Unix, Linux, MacOSX, Windows == Building & Installing PHPonTrax PEAR Module From the commandline run the following command: php make-pkg.php (Disregard any warning messages that say "not prefixed with package name "PHPonTrax"") After that runs it will make a build folder with the PEAR module called: PHPonTrax-<version>.tgz To install this newly generated PEAR module run the following command: pear install -a PHPonTrax-<version>.tgz If you have a previously installed version exists first run: pear uninstall trax/PHPonTrax == Getting Started http://wiki.phpontrax.com/How_do_I_install/upgrade_Trax%3F http://wiki.phpontrax.com/How_do_I_create_a_Trax_application%3F http://wiki.phpontrax.com/How_Tos
