PKTool 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 03:12

Adds a beta feature on top of 1.0.1.

Download PKTool.nds below and replace the old one on your SD card. Your saves, backups, Bank and settings stay as they are.

New: back up a GBA cartridge's save (beta)

On a DS or DS Lite, with a Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen cartridge in the GBA slot, press SELECT in the save browser:

  • PKTool reads the cartridge's save and keeps a copy in /PKTOOL/gba/ (for example BPEE_20261014-153000.sav), then opens it.
  • It is read-only for the cartridge: nothing is written to its data. Your edits go to the copy on the SD card.
  • The copy is only kept if the save was read identically twice and it is a valid Gen III save; otherwise you get a message saying what went wrong (no cartridge, not a Pokémon game, bad contact, no save yet).
  • The DSi and the 3DS have no GBA slot, so the option does not appear there.

This is a beta: it has not been tested with a real cartridge yet. If you try it, please open an issue and tell me what happened, whether it worked or not.

Also

  • A "Support the project" section in the README.

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Oct 18:07

Small display fix on top of 1.0.0.

Download PKTool.nds below and replace the old one on your SD card. Your saves, backups, Bank and settings stay as they are.

Changes

  • Money is shown in yen, like in the games: ¥400,406 instead of $ 400,406 (trainer card and save menu).
  • The comma of the small font has a tail now, so thousands no longer look like decimals ("400,406" used to read as "400.406"). This also fixes commas in every other text.

@github-actions github-actions released this 10 Oct 16:11

First stable release of PKTool: a Pokémon save editor that runs on the Nintendo DS itself.

Download PKTool.nds below, copy it to your flashcart's SD card and start it from the flashcart menu. PKTool finds the Pokémon .sav files on the card; everything it writes is backed up first in /PKTOOL/backups.

What it does

  • Games: Red/Blue/Yellow, Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, FireRed/LeafGreen, Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver and Black/White 1-2.
  • Edit any Pokémon (species, level, nature, ability, moves, IVs/EVs or DVs/Stat Exp, item, ball, original trainer, met data, Pokérus, ribbons), the trainer card and the bag.
  • Create Pokémon, import Showdown sets, receive Wonder Cards and event Pokémon, hatch Day-Care eggs.
  • Check legality with a report on every Pokémon, and LEGALIZE with one button: it gives the Pokémon a real encounter of its game and tells you what is impossible.
  • Bank on the SD card shared by all your saves, with box names, search and sorting; move Pokémon between games the official ways (Pal Park, Poké Transfer, Time Capsule).
  • Japanese and Korean text, name languages (ja, fr, it, de, es, ko), touch screen and an on-screen keyboard.

Known limits

  • Gen I/II saves were tested with synthetic saves only, not with real ones.
  • Tested on real hardware (a DS with an R4 flashcart); other flashcarts and loaders are untested.
