plugged.host's Wings: a fork of calagopus/wings (1.2.7) with
plugged.host's additions. It goes with
plugged-host/panel v3.0.4.

New in 3.0.4

  • A fast lane for servers with burst CPU (the panel's memberships send build.cpu_burst):
compressing, decompressing and Wings-side backups (wings, s3, ddup-bak, pbs) get
(1 + burst cores) × the node's thread counts, capped at its cores; restic backups get
RESTIC_READ_CONCURRENCY raised the same way, and free servers' restic backups run at nice +10 so
paid ones win when the node is busy. api.burst_operations: false turns it off. Servers with
unlimited CPU and no burst behave as before.
  • Parallel deflate for big ZIP entries: a file of 64 MiB or more used to be deflated on one
thread whatever the pool size; it is now deflated pigz-style in 1 MiB chunks on the pool (each
primed with the previous 32 KiB, so the ratio stays about the same), for every server whenever
the pool has more than one thread. Streamed zips (directory downloads) keep the one-thread path.

Files

  • wings-rs-x86_64-linux, wings-rs-aarch64-linux, wings-rs-riscv64-linux, wings-rs-ppc64le-linux:
    the binary for each architecture.
  • Docker: ghcr.io/plugged-host/wings:3.0.4 (also latest).
  • sbom-source.cyclonedx.json: the source's software bill of materials.

On a node, run it with its own configuration (wings-rs --config /etc/calagopus-wings/config.yml):
without --config it falls back to /etc/pelican/config.yml.

Releases are named by the panel's version; this one is v3.0.4. MIT, like Calagopus Wings.

3.0.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 11:39

The Wings that goes with plugged-host/panel v3.0.0:
a fork of calagopus/wings (wings-rs 1.2.7) with what the panel's
features need on the node.

Added over Calagopus Wings

  • GET /api/public/resources (no token): the node's memory, disk and CPU, total, used, free and
allocated, for placement and node telemetry.
  • GET /api/system/load, GET /api/system/processes and GET /api/servers/{uuid}/processes: load,
every container's processes and outgoing connections, for node telemetry and abuse protection.
  • POST /api/system/orphans: removes a server the panel no longer has (node failover, moves).
  • build.cpu_weight and build.cpu_burst in a server's configuration (CPU shares, burst cores).
  • A schedule's restart step leaves a stopped server stopped (start gates).
  • A .jar is browsed like a .zip, so the panel reads plugin.yml or fabric.mod.json without
    downloading the jar.

The full list, with what happens without the fork, is in the panel's
docs/wings.md.
