Conquer GS 1.2
Conquer GS 1.2 gives the enemy a much better head - and fixes units that could get stuck for good.
A smarter enemy (ideas from the AI of the original Command & Conquer, no code)
- It defends. Hit its base or its harvester and its nearest units come after you - enough to beat you, not all of them - and walk back home afterwards.
- Its waves keep together instead of trickling in, and go for your economy: your refinery first, then your power plant, war factory and harvester, then the rest. They come at random intervals.
- It trains troops while it rebuilds a building, puts its power plant up first, and saves up for what it lost instead of spending every credit on soldiers.
- Its damaged buildings repair themselves.
Fixed: units and harvesters stuck for good
- Units take turns for path searches. In a crowd, some never got a turn and stood still forever, often around a dock.
- Two units each waiting for the other's tile now swap places.
- A harvester whose dock is taken waits out of the way, and a unit parked on the enemy's dock is moved off.
The disk holds CONQUER.SYSTEM, CONQUER.DATA, CONQUER.SOUND, CONQUER.TITLE and CONQUER.HELP. If you run the game from a folder on a hard disk, copy all five.
