v0.3.0
Writing messages: pictures dragged into the text, and links you can see, open, change and remove.
Download: InboxClassic-Setup.exe below. It updates an installed Inbox Classic in place, keeping your accounts and mail. It installs for the current user without administrator rights and needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with the WebView2 Runtime (included in Windows 11). The setup, the app and the uninstaller are signed by Postal Systems OÜ; hashes.txt has the SHA-256 of the setup, signed with the Postalsys Releases GPG key.
What is new
- Drag pictures into a message. A PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP file dragged from Explorer onto the text goes in where you drop it, as the Picture button puts one, and is sent inside the message. Any other file dropped there is attached. Before, dropping a file on the text did nothing.
- See where a link goes. With the cursor in a link, or the mouse over one, the status bar of the message window shows its address.
- Open a link with Ctrl+click, or right-click it and choose Open Link. Web and e-mail links open in your browser or mail program.
- Change or remove a link. Link on the format bar, or the new Ctrl+K, shows the address of the link at the cursor to change; empty it to remove the link and keep its text. Right-click a link for Edit Link and Remove Link too. The browser's own menu items that do nothing in a message (open in a new window, save link as, print) are gone.

v0.2.0
Sign-in apps: sign in through the browser with an OAuth client of your own, at Google, Microsoft or any provider that supports OpenID Connect.
What is new
- Sign-in apps (File > Accounts > Sign-in Apps). Add an OAuth client you registered with your provider: Fill in for Google or Microsoft sets everything but the client ID and secret, any other provider is found from its issuer through OpenID Connect discovery. The client secret is kept in the Windows Credential Manager. New accounts use it through More sign-in options on the first page of File > New Account.
- Each sign-in app can be turned off for new accounts, the built-in Google and Microsoft clients included; accounts that already use one keep working. The built-in Google client is now off out of the box, as Google lets only test users sign in with it until it verifies the app. A turned-off button is shown faded, with the reason under it.
- Properties shows what an account signs in with, and a token the mail server refuses is reported with a hint to check the sign-in app's scopes.
- Sending signs in with OAUTHBEARER where a server does not offer XOAUTH2.

Inbox Classic 0.1.0
The first release of Inbox Classic, a Windows mail client in the style of Outlook Express: folders on the left, messages on top, the reading pane below.
Download: InboxClassic-Setup.exe below.
What it does
- Any IMAP and SMTP account, with the servers looked up from the address. Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 add with Sign in with Google or Microsoft, so the password is typed on their page, never into the app. (Sign in with Google works for registered test users only until Google has verified the app; app passwords work for everyone.)
- Mail kept on the computer for reading offline, several accounts in one folder tree, search as you type, folders, flags, Archive, .eml import and export, Message Properties, printing with a full preview.
- HTML mail sanitized and shown without scripts, pictures from the internet blocked until you allow them, quoted history and forwarded mail folded away.
- An HTML editor that sends plain text when nothing is formatted, replies that follow the original's format, drafts saved on the server, attachments by button or drag and drop, and an Outbox for what can not go yet.
- Passwords and sign-in tokens in the Windows Credential Manager, server lookups over DNS-over-HTTPS, and nothing sent anywhere but your mail servers.
