"Prettier" JSON response?

Hey.. I am a big fan of your extension, and I use it regularly at my work place.
One of the features which could be useful is to format and "tabularize" JSON/XML response, and have "code folding" support. Something like JSON Prettifier (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/kccpfgilgmgbipamhohknpokhibinhhj) for JSON.. I can't remember a good XML one, but you get the idea.

Hi, I actually submitted a pull request to implement JSON view into POSTman.

It does essentially what you want, with code folding and better syntax highlighting.

Any news on this request? This would be very useful for me since much of the response data we work with are lists in JSON format.

@stevemcmillen For JSON there is an open source alternative available but haven't found anything for XML yet. Do you know of any open source project which can be integrated with Postman? Building one from scratch would take a lot of time and I want to release support for both JSON and XML together.

Makes sense to try to expose this functionality for all output types but hopefully that does not mean the folks who are working with JSON output can't get the feature just because there's not a good XML library.

At initial search its hard to find a library that generalizes the conversion. Lots of folks offering solutions that work if you know the table structure. I found one link which I think attempts to handle any generic xml structure but I'm not really sure how generalized it is:

Is there a language of preference? Java? Javascript?

@stevemcmillen Yes. I would need to refactor the code a bit to figure out how to use this. Multiple dependencies also cause problems for future features and if I add two libraries it might be double the effort just for simple features. I am looking for a good generic library which can handle this. Otherwise, I can build something on top of CodeMirror 3.0. The library will have to be in Javascript.

I don't see anything that does both at once. Holding out for such an ideal solution is going to mean nobody gets a solution to this need - probably ever!

I can't emphasize how useful this would be to our company. The json prettifier does an amazing job at handling even nested JSON structures. I just point to a URL that has JSON and JSON prettifier displays HTML table with automatic expanding for sub-documents. With both libraries, it seems you just pass it json or xml and get back html. Would integration really be a lot of work here?

Plus, it does not look like there is a library that does both xml and json to html. So in the end users don't get anything. Very disappointing...

Pls consider implementing from 2 libraries - one that handles json and one that handles xml? The XML2HML link above does the job from XML / JSON prettifier does the job great from json.
