1.1.0 – Online play with rollback, training and a new launcher
Recharged 1.1.0 brings online play with the game's own Wi-Fi Connection code and rollback netcode, a training mode, new match and lineup options, and a new launcher look.
Online
- Play online on Windows, macOS and Linux: the game's own Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection code runs natively, with its lobby, friend codes, friend matches and rankings, on the Recharged online server.
- Online matches use rollback netcode: the game predicts the other player's inputs and corrects itself when they arrive, so matches stay responsive at higher latency.
- Network matches draw at up to 60 FPS; the performance overlay shows the latency, the input delay and the rollbacks.
- Type friend codes with the number keys, and paste, delete or backspace on the friend code screen.
- The online screens show the players' Mii icons.
- Online series, their results and connection errors are reported to the online server, which lists the matches.
- Choose another online server with
[online] serverinrecharged.ini. - For now, friend invitations skip the game's region check, and the online save is kept in a temporary format.
Gameplay
- Training: Start training on the Gameplay page goes straight into a practice match to 10 goals that never ends. Choose your captain, the stadium, the item you start every kickoff with, your side and the opponent: its captain, how many fielders, its goalie and its skill. Goals can go straight to the next kickoff, without celebration and replay.
- Secure stadiums: the game's Secure Stadium cheat in every offline match, without lightning, wind, debris, tilting or other hazards.
- Match point: when both teams are one goal from winning, overtime's siren and sudden death music play and the HUD shows SUDDEN DEATH. On by default.
- Goalie saves and collisions play the same on every platform.
Launcher
- A new look: the Recharged logo, crackling with sparks now and then, beside Mario's volley, which glides in when the Play page opens.
- A welcome guide at the first start shows how to get playing; the light bulb at the bottom of every page opens it again.
- Miis: import your Miis from Dolphin or make a random Mii with a name, and copy each Mii's friend code.
- Sidekicks: choose the sidekicks each captain starts with; they are kept in your save.
- Match rules: presets of the match settings and cheats for your matches.
- Frame rate also offers 30 and 60 FPS.
Controls
- Real Nunchuk stick: a gamepad's stick plays like a real Nunchuk's, with its octagonal edge and the game's own dead zone.
- The system cursor hides over the game, which draws its own pointer.
