Android Mode is not downloaded properly from within Mode Manager

Hi,
When I try to install Android Mode from within Processing I get the message "Could not find a mode in the downloaded file" in the Mode Manager window. I get the same error on both mac and win.

same problem. I heard some renderer problem was solved so i wanted to update, i uninstalled the android mode and tried reinstalling from processing itself. but error happens.

i downloaded processing-android-master from this github page but wonder where i have to put it in.. any help? i'm kind of in hurry..

right before finishing on my app prototype, i erased android mode

i'm in panic.. can anyone give me solution?

Same issue. This appears to be an issue with the web server hosting the mode zip file. From what I can see online, the usual URL for this is http://android.processing.org/AndroidMode.zip . If you attempt to go to that URL, you are 301 redirected to https://github.com/processing/processing-android/wiki#AndroidMode.zip .

I haven't gone so far as to see what http data is being sent, but upon clicking "Install" for the Android mode the app definitely makes a connection on port 80 to android.processing.org. I'm assuming that http://android.processing.org/AndroidMode.zip is the target and some messed up redirect on that server is causing the issue. It's never getting the zip.

@ff8jake I looked into the source and added some logs. The request being sent by the IDE is totally fine. Issue is with the server.

The real problem here is that android mode hasn't had a new release since may 2013. This is the release that's downloaded by the IDE: https://github.com/processing/processing-android/releases/tag/android-0217

To use a more up-to-date version, you have to compile it and figure out how to install it yourself.

Same issue here.

How does one go about compiling the repository then? I don't really think that using a year old version is the best idea.

Basically, its this, as far as I've been able to figure out:

git clone git@github.com:processing/processing-android
cd processing-android
export ANDROID_SDK=/path/to/android/sdk
ant build
ant dist

#67 and #68 will get in your way, though.
Then you have to figure out how to install it properly. If you're on linux, I can help you out with that.

The 0228 release of the android mode is available on the Mode Manager.
