ShenOSKernel built from Shen-Language/shen-sources ec16a9f (unreleased upstream)

ShenOSKernel built from Shen-Language/shen-sources commit ec16a9f, the merge of #117. This is not an official Shen-Language release. Upstream has not yet cut a release that contains this commit, and upstream does not commit klambda/, so this release provides the rendered KLambda.

It is an unmodified build: the tag upstream-ec16a9f points at upstream commit ec16a9fa4fc2e87e2aa336fb1ae30e8ac2266394 itself, and no tracked file was edited. (version) reports "43.1", as it does on upstream master.

This release supersedes the fork releases shen-43.1.1 and shen-43.1.2. Upstream merged Shen-Language#117 unchanged.

Contents

• The kernel source and klambda/ equal 43.1.2's, apart from the version string. Every .kl file is byte-identical to the 43.1.2 release except init.kl, which has "43.1" instead of "43.1.2". In sources/, only declarations.shen differs ((set *version* "43.1")).
• The archive has the same 473 entry paths as ShenOSKernel-43.1.2.tar.gz. Besides init.kl, declarations.shen and VERSION, three docs differ: CHANGELOG.md and doc/port-upgrades.md lack the fork's 43.1.1/43.1.2 sections, and README.md names 43.1.
• Top-level directory: ShenOSKernel-43.1-ec16a9f/. VERSION contains 43.1-ec16a9f.
• Kernel tests on Shen/Scheme (pyrex41/shen-scheme 839dfac, with this klambda/ swapped in): 134 passed, 0 failed.

Build

A fresh clone of Shen-Language/shen-sources, checked out at ec16a9f (detached), built with:

make fetch
make klambda
make release ReleaseVersion=43.1-ec16a9f

The build used Shen/Scheme 0.51 macOS-arm64 (shen-scheme-v0.51-macOS-arm64-bin.tar.gz, sha256 6f943219db976e83b5813ffda561409814da2e92ffdcdcdf5aa78232c44c6f23), the version the Makefile pins. ReleaseVersion is a make variable. Without it, the Makefile would name the archive after the short hash alone (ShenOSKernel-ec16a9f).

Shen OS Kernel 43.1.2 (fork: 43.1.1 + #117 review guard)

Fork release: ShenOSKernel 43.1.1 + the empty-list guard from review on Shen-Language/shen-sources#117. This is not an official Shen-Language release.

It is the fork release 43.1.1 (shen-43.1.1, 255ba41) with one more source change in sources/t-star.shen, from review on Shen-Language#117: shen.by-hypothesis and shen.search-user-datatypes fail at once on an empty hypothesis or datatype list, without dereferencing the checked term. *version* is "43.1.2".

• Compared with 43.1, the same 13 .kl files differ as in 43.1.1: t-star.kl and init.kl in substance, and eleven others (the six extension-*, macros, toplevel, track, types and writer) only in gensym numbering.

It is community 43.1 (shen-43.1, 715824a) with one source change in sources/t-star.shen: the type checker dereferences the checked term once per call in shen.search-user-datatypes and shen.by-hypothesis, rather than once per datatype rule and once per hypothesis. *version* is "43.1.1".

Eleven other .kl files (the six extension-*, macros, toplevel, track, types and writer), all compiled after t-star, differ only in gensym numbering (V7101 → V7129, and so on), because the regenerated t-star uses more gensyms.
