First release of the ActivityWatch plugin for Notepad++.
- Track active files, unsaved tabs and editor languages.
- Pause tracking when Notepad++ loses focus or Windows input becomes idle.
- Optionally detect project roots using Git, Mercurial or Subversion.
- Configure privacy controls, language mappings, heartbeat timing and server port through the settings dialog.
- Support a separate ActivityWatch testing server.
- Retry queued observations when ActivityWatch becomes available, preserving their original timestamps.
- Handle existing buckets correctly, including bodyless HTTP 304 responses.
- Provide Windows x64 and x86 packages with SHA256 checksums.
Activity is delivered locally; document contents are not collected. Pending observations are held in memory and lost when Notepad++ closes.
Both architectures passed 106 automated assertions, including native plugin exports and HTTP recovery tests. Live-editor acceptance of this release remains outstanding.
Thanks to Alan Hamlett and the contributors to the WakaTime Notepad++ plugin, whose plugin integration provided the starting point for this watcher.
