v1.3.0 HUD theme selection
New
- HUD Theme. A new HUD Theme row on the Mods page (Pause > Settings > MODS) switches between two looks. It needs a game restart, and the game offers to restart for you.
- 1: Original. The normal Forza Horizon 2 HUD (stock gears and assist icons), with a yellow NOS bar that matches the gear box.
- 2: Fast & Furious (default). Cyan NOS bar, cyan gears and cyan ABS / TCS / STM icons, as before.
- Saved as
HudTheme=OriginalorHudTheme=FFinFnFNitro.ini.
Changed
- One file to install. The HUD files, the exhaust flame effect and the nitro sounds are now built into
FnFNitro.dll, so the release no longer has aMount\folder or anFnFNitro\sounds folder. Copy just theazimuth-windows\folder. - Flames use the game's own blue backfire material, so the flame shaders and materials that used to be copied into
mediaoverrideare gone. - Your own sounds still work: put
nos_boost.wavandnos_stop.wavin anFnFNitrofolder next toazimuth.exeand they replace the built-in ones. - Updated the bundled FH2 Mod Platform to 2.7.3. It can mount the
mediaoverridefolder itself when Extra Options isn't loaded, and it fixes empty crash dumps on Windows.
Upgrading from 1.2 or older
Copy the new azimuth-windows\ folder over the old one. You no longer need to copy Mount\. The first time the new version starts, it deletes the old HUD and flame files it used to need from Mount\mediaoverride. It only removes files that match the old release byte for byte, so anything you changed is left alone, and it logs Removed N old HUD/flame file(s) to fh2-mods\platform.log. Any .bak files left next to them are the platform's backups, and you can delete those yourself.
