Repository navigation
Releases
v0.3.1
Fixed
-
All branches no longer fills the graph with other tools' hidden commits. It used to show every commit Git keeps a pointer to, including the private ones other tools save, such as the
t3 checkpointcommit T3 Code makes after every agent turn (345 of them in one repository). It now shows your local branches, tags, remote branches (with Remotes on) and where you are (HEAD), as VS Code and GitKraken do (#11, thanks @pitty-bull).One side effect: a commit on a detached HEAD in another worktree of the repository no longer shows. Branches checked out in other worktrees still do.
Updating
Ask your Herdr agent: "Update the git-graph mod from github.com/rabeeh-ta/herdr-git-graph".
v0.3.0
Manygit: every repository in a folder
Focus a terminal in a folder that holds repositories, and the panel lists them all, grouped by folder, after manygit:
- each repository's branch, uncommitted changes, and ↑ ahead / ↓ behind its upstream (in Herdr's colors), or not pushed / no remote
- click one for its graph; its name in the header switches to another, ‹ Manygit goes back
- right-click one for a new agent or terminal tab in it, pull / push / fetch (whichever it needs first), commit, stash or reset its changes, its remote's page, or its path
- Fetch all fetches every repository with a remote, 8 at a time, with login prompts off
- settings (the gear): scan depth (1 to 5, 3 by default) and Show tags (each one's newest tag)
It's fast: one find for the folder and one git status per repository, and a commit or fetch in any of them updates its row at once. Your home folder and anything above it aren't searched. Manygit works on macOS and Linux.
Thanks to @gabriquaranta for the first multi-repository version (#2), which this grew from.
Also new
- Commit from the graph: right-click Uncommitted changes → Commit…. It stages everything first unless you've staged something yourself, and refuses while a merge has unresolved conflicts.
- The panel is called Git (one repository) or Manygit (a folder of them).
- The Graph column keeps room for its heading in a repository with few branches (#9, thanks @ssk090).
Fixed
- Herdr 0.1.12: the graph's lines and rows were scaled twice by the zoom (lines drifted off their dots, curves missed). Older Herdr versions draw as before.
Updating
Ask your Herdr agent: "Update the git-graph mod from github.com/rabeeh-ta/herdr-git-graph". If you added the top-bar button, you can rename its label from Graph to Git in your tabs-graph copy (docs/top-bar.md).
v0.2.0
What's new
- Update notice. When a newer release is out, the Graph header shows Update Graph. Click it for what changed and the one line to give your Herdr agent. It checks GitHub at most once a day and sends nothing about you; Stop checking turns it off.
- Resizable columns. Drag a column header's edge to resize Graph, Date, Author or Commit; double-click to reset. Widths are kept across restarts. Thanks @hiking93 (#3)
- Graph lines at any zoom. At a Herdr zoom other than 1, lane lines now sit on their dots and no longer break between rows. Thanks @aBER0724 (#6)
Safety fixes
- Commit text can't become git options. History is read with NUL separators, and every commit hash and branch, tag and remote name is checked before git runs. Thanks @bonobo-d (#5)
- Actions check the branch first. If the branch or HEAD changed since the graph loaded (say, in another terminal), an action stops and asks you to refresh instead of running on the wrong branch. Thanks @bonobo-d (#7)
Updating
Ask your Herdr agent: "Update the git-graph mod from github.com/rabeeh-ta/herdr-git-graph"
This is the first release with the update notice, so copies installed before it won't show one.
