SSMV 0.6.0 — Offline Mermaid diagrams
Mermaid diagrams, offline on both platforms
SSMV 0.6.0 renders Mermaid code blocks on macOS and Windows, including flowcharts, mindmaps, architecture diagrams, and math labels.
- Diagram modules load on demand. Ordinary Markdown documents do not start a diagram renderer.
- Diagrams follow light/dark appearance and are included in PDF exports.
- Rendering time, image size, and caches are bounded. Invalid or oversized diagrams remain visible as source.
- The complete offline renderer and third-party license notices are bundled.
Downloads
- macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon and Intel):
SSMV-0.6.0.zip, orbrew upgrade --cask raeseoklee/tap/ssmvafterbrew update. - Windows 10 build 19041+ / Windows 11: choose the x64 or ARM64 setup installer. Windows installers are attached by CI after build, rendering, PDF, and installation checks pass. Mermaid rendering requires the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.
macOS is ad-hoc signed, not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. The Homebrew cask checks the archive checksum and bundle signature, then removes quarantine from SSMV.app only; this bypasses Gatekeeper's first-launch check for this app. Windows installers are unsigned and may show a publisher warning.
SSMV 0.5.1 — File drag and drop
File drag and drop
- Open Markdown files dropped onto the reader, sidebar, or empty window areas through one window-level destination.
- Prevent read-only child views from intercepting file drops.
- Preserve multi-file opening and duplicate selection; ignore directories and unsupported files without moving or editing originals.
brew update
brew upgrade --cask raeseoklee/tap/ssmvValidated with 96 tests, simulated drag delivery through the actual viewer and rendering path, Universal builds, signatures, and cask style. Physical Finder drag verification was unavailable because the test Mac was locked.
Signing: Ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized by Apple. After checksum and signature verification, the cask removes quarantine from SSMV.app only; global security settings are unchanged.
SSMV 0.5.0 — URL and LLM document input
URL and LLM document input
- Open public HTTPS Markdown and GitHub file links with File → Open URL… (⇧⌘O). Cached documents work offline; ⌘R fetches changes.
- Read copied Markdown with Open Clipboard as Markdown, or pass completed output through the new
ssmvcommand. - Save exact Markdown copies, retain imported documents across restarts, and explicitly manage or delete unlisted imports. Pending deliveries recover on launch.
- Preserve the existing sidebar list and selection during migration. All sources reuse the native reader, outline, sorting, and snapshot PDF export.

ssmv notes.md
printf '# Review\n\nReady to read.\n' | ssmv - --title "Review"No MCP server, new dependency, or resident service is required. CLI exit 0 confirms delivery, not rendering. Public HTTPS documents are limited to 16 MiB; remote caching and imported-document storage have separate limits. See the README for supported inputs and privacy behavior.
Validated with 94 tests, Universal GUI/CLI builds, cold and ten concurrent warm deliveries, recovery checks, GitHub URLs, and native Save a Copy. Repeated 15 MiB local benchmarks remained within the planned 10% regression budget. Intel binaries were cross-built; Intel hardware runtime was not tested.
Signing: This release is ad-hoc signed and is not Developer ID signed or notarized by Apple. After verifying the archive checksum and app signature, the Homebrew cask removes quarantine from SSMV.app only. This bypasses Gatekeeper’s first-launch check for this app; it does not add notarization or change global security settings.
SSMV 0.4.0
Organize sidebar documents with right-click → Sort By:
- Date Added: original insertion order (default).
- Name: natural filename order, including numbers.
- Date Modified: newest first; missing dates appear last.
The choice persists across launches. Selecting documents or expanding headings does not reorder files, and heading trees retain document order. Includes the previously unreleased About wording update.
brew update
brew upgrade --cask raeseoklee/tap/ssmvRequires macOS 13 or later; Universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel.
Ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or Apple notarized. The Homebrew cask verifies the checksum and bundle signature, then removes quarantine from SSMV.app only, bypassing its first-launch Gatekeeper check. Manual downloads may be blocked.
Validation: 61 tests, universal build, strict signature and archive checks, and manual sort selection and restart persistence.
SSMV 0.3.3
The add, remove, and outline buttons now share the same compact size, rounded background, and symbol weight. The original list glyph is restored. A thin border identifies the enabled outline state, including when the window is inactive.
Holding minus for 0.6 seconds still opens the Remove All confirmation; a short click removes the selected entry. No icons were added.
Validation: matching button-frame regression test, light/dark UI screenshots, separate click/press tests, Universal build, formatting and archive/signature checks. Physical timed-hold recognition was not directly exercised by the UI automation tool.
Update through Homebrew:
brew update
brew upgrade --cask raeseoklee/tap/ssmvThis release is ad-hoc signed and not Apple notarized. Homebrew verifies the app signature and removes quarantine for SSMV only.
SSMV 0.3.2
Hold the existing minus button for 0.6 seconds to open the Remove All confirmation. A short click removes only the selected entry. Cancel remains the default confirmation action; source files are preserved.
The outline toggle now uses a filled symbol when enabled and an outlined symbol when disabled. Removing its gray selected background keeps the symbol legible when the window is inactive, with explicit accessibility state.
Validation: 57 tests including separate click/press actions and no duplicate action on press end; Universal build; native on/off visual checks and short-click check; archive and signature checks.
Open SSMV once after installation for Finder registration.
SSMV 0.3.1
Clear the entire document list with File → Remove All from Sidebar… or the sidebar context menu. No toolbar icon was added.
The confirmation shows the number of entries and states that original files stay on disk. Cancel is the default action, and explicit Remove All confirmation clears the list and current document view.
Validation: 56 tests, Universal build, strict formatting, native UI cancel/confirm checks through both menus, original fixture files preserved, archive and signature checks.
Update through Homebrew:
brew update
brew upgrade --cask raeseoklee/tap/ssmvThis release is ad-hoc signed, not Apple notarized. Homebrew verifies the app signature and removes quarantine for SSMV only. Open SSMV once after installation for Finder registration.
SSMV 0.3.0
SSMV now checks its Homebrew tap at launch, at most once per 24 hours. A newer version produces an in-app notice with Copy Commands and Dismiss. Updates remain Homebrew-only; the app never downloads or installs its own replacement.
- Failed checks are silent and each version is announced once. The public cask request contains no document contents or paths.
- Outline loading refreshes the affected subtree and preserves the visible row position. Regression tests cover concurrent loading and displayed A–D file order.
- A reported actual file-order permutation has not been reproduced; this release fixes the confirmed viewport jump and narrows refresh scope, rather than claiming a confirmed permutation root cause.
Validation: 55 tests passed, strict Swift formatting, Universal build, archive/checksum/signature verification, live startup notice, and native D/B/A/C expansion checks.

SSMV 0.2.2
Align document icons with the filename and disclosure arrow in sidebar rows. File paths remain on the second line.
Validated with a Universal build, strict Swift formatting, native UI screenshot and archive/signature checks.
This release is ad-hoc signed, not Apple notarized. The Homebrew cask verifies the bundle signature and removes quarantine for SSMV only. Open SSMV once after installation to register Finder’s Open With entry.
SSMV 0.2.1
The add, remove, and outline buttons now sit beside Documents at the top of the sidebar, leaving more room for files.
Browse document headings directly beneath each file in the sidebar. Click a heading to jump to its location, including headings with identical titles.
- Toggle outlines from View → Show Document Outline or the sidebar button. The preference persists across launches.
- Inactive documents load their outline when expanded. Each outline displays up to 2,000 headings, with titles capped at 256 characters.
- Canceled loading and user-collapsed trees retain correct state.
Validation: 47 tests passed; strict Swift formatting; Universal arm64/x86_64 build; signature, archive and checksum verification; native UI tree and toggle checks.
