MeowDisplay 2.0 — Mac Everywhere, On Whatever Display.
The stable Mac 2.0 release includes two downloads:
- MeowDisplay.dmg — the unified Mac app. Share this Mac with your other devices, or use it to receive another Mac. Requires macOS 14 or later.
- MeowDisplayReceiver.dmg — the separate receiver-only app. Use another Mac as the display. Requires macOS 12 or later.
Both apps are universal for Apple silicon and Intel. The published apps and disk images have passed Developer ID signature, notarization, stapling, version/build 2.0.0, entitlement and update-key continuity checks. SHA256SUMS.txt and both signed Sparkle feeds accompany the release.
What's new
- Full Desktop for Mirror and Extend, with per-device display assignments.
- Window view to arrange individual Mac windows, and Stage Peek on iPhone, iPad and Android to switch between them.
- Natural Touch, keyboard controls, Compact/Expanded controls, Zoom While Typing and Text Bar on supported receivers.
- Video and system audio, Remote Access over a reachable private network such as Tailscale, and code-confirmed pairing with separately granted control.
- Remote Finder and Unified Clipboard on iPhone, iPad and Android, with explicit permissions. These are not included in Mac Receiver.
- Mac-to-Mac reception and keyboard/trackpad forwarding; physical testing coverage differs by device and feature.
Install
Open the appropriate DMG, drag the app to Applications, and launch it. On the sharing Mac, grant Screen Recording and Accessibility when needed. Open MeowDisplay on the receiving device, pair by comparing the code, and grant control separately.
iPhone and iPad 2.0 is officially released on the App Store. Android 2.0 remains in Google Play closed testing. Use compatible 2.0 apps for the new features.

Upgrading
- From 1.20.0: choose Check for Updates in MeowDisplay, or download the DMG above and replace the app in Applications. 2.0.0 uses the same app identity, so settings and paired devices are kept. Update the iPhone/iPad app from the App Store so both sides support the 2.0 features.
- From 2.0.0 public beta 1: the beta disk images contained these same signed 2.0.0 apps, so no reinstall is needed. Updates now come from this stable release.
- Homebrew:
brew install --cask raiseCatError/tap/meowdisplay(receiver-only:raiseCatError/tap/meowdisplay-receiver);brew upgrade --cask meowdisplaymoves an existing 1.20.0 install to 2.0.0.
Known limitations
- Android 2.0 is available only to Google Play closed testers, not on the public Play Store.
- Remote Finder and Unified Clipboard aren't available in Mac Receiver.
- Mac-to-Mac keyboard and trackpad forwarding has had less physical two-Mac testing than iPhone and iPad.
- The receiver-only app runs on macOS 12 and later; broader hardware testing is ongoing.
