Fixes

  • #11 Everest Max button actions (App/Shell) and the file picker now work on AppImage installs again: the bundled library paths no longer leak into launched programs.
  • #21 Tray icon survives panel restarts / idle instead of dying on the "Failed to dock icon" error.
  • #19 A clear "No keyboard detected" screen shows when no device is connected.
  • #15 Everest 60: the ESC key now lights up with the rest of the keyboard.
  • #4 Everest 60 side LEDs no longer blank the main keys when applied.

New

  • #20 Control interface: external programs (and scripts) can drive lighting, switch pages, push images and redefine keys via BaseCamp --ctl '{…}' or a local socket. See docs/CONTROL_INTERFACE.md.
  • #17 Multiple actions can be chained on one key press.
  • #18 New "Redefine key" action.
  • #16 New "Switch page" action; plugin/monitor keys can carry a press action.

Under the hood

  • Future pure-Python updates ship as the small source-overlay tarball (all distros, no AppImage rebuild), for the whole app, not just the GUI.
  • Proper Debian-compatible AppImage build (Debian 12 / Ubuntu 22.04+).
