This update brings Reisen Inaba, Eirin, Yuuka, and Kokoro! Also, some refactors which were excruciating to debug (I changed a lot of string manipulations to use plain ol' memmove only), but it's finally working.

fsgq update (Mar 24)

The fumosay-gensoquote wrapper script has been updated for the latest gensoquote 0.3.0. The changes are listed below:

  • No longer hard-codes /bin/bash (should work as long as you have bash anywhere in PATH)
  • Installation script:
    • will now abort if cargo is unavailable, and prompt the user to install it themselves
    • now defaults to installing to ~/.local/bin and ~/.local/share/man (for fumosay's man page)
    • the user can specify alternative installation location
    • no longer uses sudo by default
  • Now utilizes gensoquote's character selection
  • You can pass options to fumosay by putting them after the character name.

Like this: ./fsgq.sh reimu -gc -E r

Actually Portable Executable

With Cosmopolitan, the file cosmo_fumosay.com should run natively on Linux/Windows (not WSL)/Mac/BSD/BIOS. Linux users are still advised to compile a native executable, as it handles command line options better (you can put the options after the message and it would detect them). This solves the issue of previous mingw-made fumosay exes being misidentified as malicious.

Nevermind, Windows still think it's a virus. Maybe fumos are just so contagiously adorable, Windows has to protect you from them. If you trust me, you can go to Windows Security settings and allow the file.
