0.2.0 — renamed to mcp-policy-lint

Renamed: one name for the command, the package, the repository and the action

mcplint was already a crowded name — a PyPI project, several GitHub repos, and a scanner that uses MCP001–MCP013 for different checks. This release moves everything to mcp-policy-lint:

what 0.1.x 0.2.0
PyPI distribution mcp-policy-lint mcp-policy-lint (unchanged)
command mcplint mcp-policy-lint
import package mcplint mcp_policy_lint
rule ids MCP001… POL001…
repository, action ravenkernel/mcplint ravenkernel/mcp-policy-lint

Behaviour is unchanged: the same nine rules, the same exit codes (0 pass, 1 findings, 2 drift, 3 usage error), all 29 tests and the 11-case gate table still pass.

Upgrade

pip install -U mcp-policy-lint
mcp-policy-lint check mcp.json --baseline policy.lock.json

Baselines written by 0.1.x still load: the policy file format did not change. Finding ids did — anything that matched on MCP0xx needs POL0xx.

Why

A tool nobody can find is a tool nobody runs. The rename is the cheapest piece of distribution work available, and it also stops MCP009 from meaning "unmodeled field" here and "prompt injection" in a neighbouring scanner.
