What's new
- Announcements: easyIDE can now show news (releases, community, fixes) as a notification with an image and a button, and once more inside the app, so it isn't missed when notifications are off. Only for installs that agreed to analytics and announcements; turn it off in Settings > Privacy.
- Fixed a startup crash on the home screen (
NullPointerExceptioninHomeViewModel, seen on Waydroid with beta.8). - NOTICE.md re-verified against upstream licenses.

What's new
- Setup no longer resets when you go back: during first-run setup, Back moves between steps and the Linux install keeps running; only its own Cancel stops it.
- No more broken Linux after a cancelled or retried install: installs never overlap, and every attempt unpacks into a clean environment instead of on top of a half-finished one.
- Includes beta.9: announcements and the home-screen startup crash fix.

What's new
- Claude Code installs and runs: the Node.js preset and every extension install recipe now install the current Node LTS (checked against nodejs.org checksums) instead of Ubuntu's Node 18, whose npm 9.2 broke
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code("native binary not installed"). Environments already on Node 18 upgrade in place; reinstall Claude once withnpm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code. - Includes beta.7: terminals see every project of the environment at
/projects/<project name>, the npm cache no longer corrupts itself under proot, and fewer silent terminal deaths. - Full audit: docs/sandbox-runtime/terminal-audit.md.

What's new
- Terminals see every project of their environment at
/projects/<project name>(start in your own), so an agent canls /projectsorclaude --add-dir /projects/other. Claude Code history, trust and memory are now per project, and one install and sign-in serves every project on the same environment. - Language-server installs no longer break npm: the npm cache corrupted itself under proot (
ENOENT ... content-v2); it is fixed and broken caches are cleared once. - Fewer silent terminal deaths: leaving a project ends idle projects before ones with running terminals and tells you when a running one is ended; a terminal killed by Android explains why; guest setup runs once, under a lock; extension terminals run as your user; Cleanup no longer deletes

What's new
- Crash reports, performance timings and remote configuration join analytics and announcements, all under the single agreement shown on first launch (new installs before setup, existing installs after upgrading). No personal data is collected: no name, phone number, contacts, accounts or other apps, and never your files, code, commands or terminal output. Turn it off any time in Settings > Privacy.
- easyIDE's own source is now licensed under the GNU AGPL v3; the release includes the AGPL
LICENSE. - New README with download, community and privacy sections. Join the discussion on Telegram.

What changed since v0.2.0-beta.1
Terminal:
- Interactive shells run as a non-root default user (
dev) instead of root, with a workingsudo/passwd(default passwordeasyide, shown until you change it). PATHnow includes user-installed tool directories (opencode, pipx, cargo, bun, npm-global) and Ubuntu's own/usr/games.- Closing a terminal tab kills every process it started, not just the shell, and the last tab can now be closed.
- A background tab no longer redraws the visible one while it's noisy.
- Sticky Ctrl/Alt keys and Shift+Tab in the on-screen key row; bracketed paste.
Verified on device: sudo escalation, apt installs, tab close killing background processes, Claude Code CLI install and login.

Highlights: VS Code-style dense workspace shell, language servers (Python with Ruff and others), extension packs and icon themes, git graph and history operations, full-screen mode, fix for syntax colours flashing while typing. What is missing and what is untested is listed in the README.
