Hertz Sync 1.4.0

One recipe for a whole pack, and loops that land in time more often.

  • Batch processing. Pick a recipe and run it on a folder, a pack, your selection or the whole library: rename by tempo and key, cut silence off one-shots, smooth every edge, even out loudness (peak for one-shots so a kit keeps its balance, LUFS for loops), match to your project's tempo and key, one sample rate, WAV or FLAC. Preview every new name and listen before and after first. Results go to a new folder next to your library; your originals are never touched, and Undo sends the new folder to the Recycle Bin. Changing files where they are is there too, only when you turn it on, with a warning for DAW projects and a full Undo. Renaming is free; the other steps are part of Pro.
  • Tempos the producer wrote down. Hertz Sync now reads the tempo embedded in WAV (ACID), AIFF (Apple Loops) and MP3 files, and a folder named with one tempo ("120 BPM").
  • Set a loop's tempo yourself. In Sound details: half, double, or type it. It is kept when you scan again.
  • Safer matching. A loop whose length fits two tempos (say 90 and 135) is no longer stretched by a guess; names like "90s" or a vendor's number are no longer read as a tempo. The player says "tempo only" when a loop is matched in time but its key can't be trusted.
  • Collections are free and unlimited on every plan.
  • On a Mac, sounds sent to the Trash keep Put Back when the Finder allows it.

@rc0900989-rgb rc0900989-rgb released this 05 Nov 18:07

Hertz Sync 1.3.0

Your whole library, free, and cleaner.

  • The free plan now manages up to 40,000 sounds (was 500). Pro has no limit.
  • Sorting into real folders is free. Copy your library into one new folder with a subfolder per category; your originals stay where they are, and one click undoes it.
  • Same sound, other versions. Duplicates now also finds one recording kept as several files: a WAV and its MP3, another sample rate or a quieter copy. The original lossless file is kept; the rest go to the Recycle Bin, and Undo brings them back.
  • Big libraries stay fast. Measured at 100,000 sounds: search answers as you type, a rescan takes about a second, and the library loads in a fraction of the data it used to.
  • MP3 and AAC play exactly in time. The silence encoders add at the start is now removed, so these files line up and loop correctly. MP3s already in your library are checked again once.
  • The free plan gets 5 matched drags a day; listening in your project's tempo and key stays free.

@rc0900989-rgb rc0900989-rgb released this 05 Nov 02:44

Hertz Sync 1.2.1

A polish update for the slicer.

  • Slicer, On the beat: a step that would cut a loop into more than 64 slices is now greyed out, and the slicer picks the finest step that fits instead of showing an error. Long, fast loops slice straight away.
  • The slicer's message box no longer squeezes its text into a narrow column.

Everything from 1.2.0 (slicer, kit builder, today's dig, starter packs, 3 computers per key) is included.

Hertz Sync 1.2.0

Your packs, turned into new sounds.

New in Pro

  • Slicer: cut any loop into sounds of your own. Drum loops are cut on every hit and each slice is named by ear (Kick, Snare, Hat); melodic loops on the beat. Lock the slices you like and re-cut the rest. The slices join your library.
  • Kit builder: pick a kick and "Fill the kit" finds the closest snare, clap, hats, perc and cymbal in your whole library, by how they sound. Export each kit as a numbered folder.
  • Today's dig: every day, sounds you own but have never played, or a song's worth of parts that play together in one key and tempo.
  • Starter packs: set your track's tempo and key and get a folder of matched loops and hits from your whole library.
  • Noir: a new skin, black glass with a holographic glow. Every Pro feature now shows Unlocked.

Three computers, move it yourself

One key now unlocks Pro on 3 computers at a time. Moving to a new computer? Deactivate Pro on the old one (Pro window), or free a lost computer's seat on your computers page. Reinstalling on the same computer takes no new seat.

Already have Pro? Open 1.2.0 while online and Pro comes back by itself on this computer. Nothing to enter.

Free plan

  • 20 drags a day arrive in your DAW already matched to your project's tempo and key.
  • Try the slicer, kit builder and starter packs before you buy; one free look at today's dig.

Also

  • Listening copies stay inside the app; dragged copies are normal WAV files in Music/Hertz Sync/Synced Sounds.
  • The license check now goes to the Hertz Sync license server, which checks your key with Gumroad. Your library never leaves your computer.

  • macOS: 1.2.0 for Mac is coming soon. Until then HertzSync-macOS-AppleSilicon.dmg here is 1.1.0 (SHA-256 16ddf56e222c3bef360b420e29cd8caee5fe35fc0bdc2ebca84d939fb6cc3c7f), the same file as in the 1.1.0 release.

Hear every loop in your project's tempo and key, free. Turn on Sync, set your project's BPM and key, and loops play stretched and moved to it as you browse. With Pro, what you drag into your DAW arrives exactly as you heard it.

A new stretching engine. Drums stay tight and chords clean when a loop is stretched or re-pitched. Matched copies come out a whole number of beats long and loop without a click, so they sit on your DAW's grid.

Key suggestions and tuning by ear. For sounds with no key in their name, Hertz Sync suggests two keys to pick from ("Sounds like C major or C minor?"); in our tests the right one is among them for about 8 in 10 loops. Or tune any sound yourself with − / +, drums and 808s included. Your choice is remembered.

See your whole library on the free plan. The free plan still manages 500 sounds, but the scan now counts everything in your folders, by category, with the duplicates across all of them.

Fixes. Sounds labelled major go to the right key in a minor project. A tempo Hertz Sync only guesses is no longer stretched by. Two same-named files unpacked at the same moment no longer share one synced copy.
