@regtoga regtoga released this 20 Dec 09:02

Version 2.0:
image
VS Version 1.0:
image

Version 2.0 Adds:

  1. Truth Table Editor for TTG

  2. Power Toys for TTG

  3. Ability to save and load Tables for TTG

  4. Paging System to interact with HUGE tables

  5. Multiple Output Support

  6. Maxterm support

  7. Don't care support

  8. GTT now saves its results to a file and tell you its name

  9. Logic Simulator now included

  10. load and save chips to and from disk, compatible with the TTG

  11. Updated Info page

Bugs that i know about:
the TTG only really supports up to 10 inputs before it runs into an error where i am trying to create too many columns in the SQLite database. to fix this error by NOT using SQLite <3.

Sometimes when splitting a wire by clicking on it in the Logic Simulator it creates a node of the wrong type making it impossible to connect the input of one thing to the output of another....

LogicThursday V1.9.9.5

@regtoga regtoga released this 17 Nov 00:12

Full Changelog: V1.9.9.4...V1.9.9.5
So i said V2.0 would be ready when these things are done:

  1. Maxterm Calculation working
  2. GTT doesn't respect scope of input (FIXED)
  3. polish wires (1/2 FIXED)
  4. dynamic CHIP height and length (DONE)
  5. don't cares not working...
  6. There can sometimes be no output function, when this all inputs are either 0 or 1. i fixed it enough for my purpose so that everything works in the logic simulator. (Fixed)

before V1.9.9.5:

After V1.9.9.5:

so what is left before 2.0?

  1. Maxterm Calculation functional
  2. Don't cares needs some work
  3. split wires with a click

Also while working on this is discovered an issue with my TTG that would require a whole rewrite, the way I'm calculating the minimized functions is though the use of a SQLite Table, the final step creates a column for each minterm in the function... but SQLite only supports so many columns (see image below). I have decided this is not a big deal as of this instant because if you were to solve functions that big using the database you would spend years waiting for it all to read and write from the table on the disk. I had chatGPT look at my code and make a CPP version of the TTG. as far as i can tell it works, and is FAST, but honestly its not very interesting to me because I didnt write it.

LogicThursday V1.9.9.4

This Release Adds a basic version of Wires:

You can now split and branch wires. Though the biggest feature in this update is now the fix to back end that fixes this:
image

I also think i discovered that the don't cares in the TTG are broken.... sometimes it works, but not all the time... I really have a lot of work to do

V2.0 will be ready when these things are done:

  1. Maxterm Calculation working
  2. I still need to fix that one bug with the GTT:
    image
  3. polish the new wires, optional features that would be nice to have. Clicking on the wires should split them creating a new node that you can branch from. The node should render ontop of the wires so that its easier to click...
  4. The chips height and length needs to be dynamic because right now, the inputs/outputs and even text over flow!
  5. don't cares calculation working...
  6. there can be no output function, for the TTG, if this happens it should just append the inputs to the function: Ex: F(A,B,C) = Z'm(0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) --> F = , when it should be F = A + B + C bc its a real function.

There are a few QOL changes to the LogicSimulator,

  1. Canceling Chip placement now functions properly
  2. Saving a Circuit as a Chip now properly minimized the function before saving it to a file, which is good for two reasons, one the file sized are reduced, two when importing chips into the TTG there is a vast speedup due to needing to a lot less calculations:
    image
  3. It is now possible to import TruthTables as Gates aswell as other saved gates. This cross compatability with my TTG makes it easy to correct mistakes a after a chip has been built.

@regtoga regtoga released this 30 Oct 07:36

It is now possible to import Logic Gates as truth tables, and as Power toy functions!

These features should vastly increase the usefulness of the program!

I think the next thing I'm going to do is go though and comment the LogicSim before it becomes enchantment table.

@regtoga regtoga released this 26 Oct 21:59

The main feature of this update is the additon of a Logic Simulator to my main program.

Ofc there are some other changes like:

  1. there is now a NAND gate in the power toys
  2. Updated info page
  3. QoL changes to the main menu, if you right click you can now have more than one menu open at a time.

Version 2.0 will be ready when these things are done:

  1. Maxterm calculation works
  2. There seems to be a bug with how the GTT program works, i don't use it a lot so I guess i never noticed.
    image
  3. I need the ability to export gates from my logic simulator in the same style that my PowerToys program accepts so that i can use things i created in there inside of my power toys!
  4. I want more flexability with my wires in the logic simulator

@regtoga regtoga released this 25 Oct 19:53

In this release i fix some bugs with the Power toys and also the number of tables is no longer hard coded avoiding some errors with complex requests.

I also fixed the fact that we didnt know what the .txt saved as in the GTT portion.

V1.9.5 Got PowerToys Multiple Outputs working

Choose a tag to compare

@regtoga regtoga released this 20 Jul 17:25

Added Multiple Output support for functions:
image
so the last big thing i have to do is get the Maxterm computation working... If it did work i would also have to put more work into the PowerToys because right now i believe it really only supports minterm importing? but it might all be the same thing.

Version 1.9.4

Choose a tag to compare

@regtoga regtoga released this 19 Jul 10:17

In this release i add functionality to the power toys. It doesn't support multipool outputs at a time yet, but that is what i plan on working on next.

@regtoga regtoga released this 15 Jul 14:04

In this release i add support for saving and loading a file to the TruthTable Creator. This should make it WAY easier to take breaks and share tables with friends.
This is what the additional GUI looks like:
