v0.4.0 – User count per role on the menus tab
New
- Menus tab: a badge next to each role shows how many users currently have it. Hover over it (or focus it with the keyboard) to see their display names, plus the login name where it differs. Long lists show the first 25 users followed by "and n more".
v0.3.0 – Menu access for other roles
New
- Menus for other roles – a new Menus tab in Settings → Site settings lets you give roles without the
edit_theme_optionscapability (e.g. editors) access to the navigation menus: No access, View only or Edit, per role. Users with several roles get the highest level.- Edit: an own Menus item in the admin menu opens the WordPress menu screen. The capability is granted only for that screen and its AJAX actions, so widgets, the Customizer and theme settings stay closed.
- View only: an own page lists the menu locations and all menus with their items, without editing.
- Requires a theme with menu locations (classic themes); block themes manage navigation in the Site Editor.
v0.2.2 – Support widget buttons without icons
Fixes
- Support widget: the contact buttons no longer show icons, which were misaligned on some sites. The buttons now simply read Write an email and Call; hovering shows the email address and phone number.
v0.2.1 – Calmer support widget
Changed
- Support widget redesign: no more coloured bar – the widget now uses the normal dashboard background, so it no longer looks like an error message.
- Full reichelt media.design logo with an info button next to it that opens the website.
- Contact options as buttons side by side: Write an email (primary) and the phone number. The postal address is no longer shown.
v0.2.0 – Support widget on the dashboard
New
- Support widget: a dashboard widget "Need help or support?" with the contact details of reichelt media.design (address, phone, email, website). The logo and contact details ship with the plugin; nothing is loaded from other servers.
- The widget is on by default for all users who can see the dashboard. Switch it off under Settings → Site settings → Admin area → Support widget, or hide it per user under Screen Options.
Upgrading
The new setting is on by default, so existing sites show the widget right after the update.
v0.1.0 – Initial release: comments, XML-RPC, head and dashboard settings
First release of RMD Site Settings: basic site settings for administrators in one place, under Settings → Site settings. Every switch is off until you turn it on.
Features
- Comments – disable everywhere or for selected post types, optionally keep showing existing comments. In "everywhere" mode the Comments menu, discussion settings, comment feeds, the
X-Pingbackheader, the comments REST endpoint, comment XML-RPC methods, the Recent Comments widget, comment blocks and the dashboard comment parts are removed too. - Notes stay intact – block editor notes (WordPress 6.9+) keep working and are never deleted.
- Delete comments – all, by post type or spam only; comment counts are recalculated per post.
- XML-RPC – switch off
xmlrpc.phpcompletely. - Page head – remove emoji script, generator tag, shortlink, oEmbed discovery links, REST API link and RSD link.
- Admin area – hide the welcome panel and the "Events and News" and "Quick Draft" widgets, set an own admin footer text.
- Updates appear on the Plugins screen like any other plugin update.
Requires WordPress 6.8+ and PHP 8.1+.
