Released before Privacy policy v2 takes effect on 1 Dec 2026, by the owner's decision (ADR-0183). v2 (published
24 Oct) is the policy that names reminders and notification choices; they stay on your device and in your Drive.

What's new

Notifications, inside the app

• A bell on every screen. It counts what needs your attention and opens Notifications, with To do and
  Done tabs, grouped by Today, This week and Earlier. Filter by kind, and by this business or all of them.
• Today on the dashboard. Up to three things due today and your total overdue amount. When nothing is due, it
  says "All clear for today".
• Done, Snooze and Undo. Swipe or tap to mark something done or snooze it, with five seconds to undo. Why?
  says why you see an item and lets you turn that kind off.
• Done on one device is done on all. Read, done and snoozed items sync through your Google Drive.

What Akmo reminds you about

• Money. Unpaid invoices before and after their due date, one line per customer ("Ravi Traders: 2 invoices,
  ₹42,500 overdue"), quotations about to expire, and advances not adjusted after 30 days. When a reminded invoice
  is paid in full, you see "Paid!".
• GST due dates. Tell Akmo how you file in Business › Tax (Monthly, Quarterly (QRMP) or Composition) and it
  reminds you 3 days before each return and on the day. Mark filed closes it. Akmo never claims to know whether
  you filed.
• Your data is safe. A reminder when there has been no backup for a while, or when sync needs attention.
• Work. Drafts left unfinished, plus a few year-end reminders (LUT renewal, the numbering check, a year-end backup).
• My reminders. Set your own from an invoice, a customer or Notifications, once or repeating. An Owner or Admin
  can assign one to a staff member.

Your choice

• Settings › Notifications starts with our notification promise, then lets you turn each kind on or off.
  Security and legal notices stay on.
• Staff see only what they may open. Amounts are hidden from profiles that cannot see totals.
• Practice mode never creates notifications.

Also in this version: fixes

• Practice mode is safer. While you practise, Sign out, Delete account, backup, Drive and user settings are
  hidden, so nothing you do there can touch your real data.
• Payments and documents. Customer statements and the dashboard chart show foreign-currency invoices in ₹. A
  Payment Receipt now comes only from Record payment, so every receipt has its payment. An issued invoice keeps
  its customer. An item priced with tax included is converted correctly on an invoice priced without tax. New
  templates show bank details, the UPI QR code, notes and terms.
• GSTR-1 export. Place of supply and units are spelled exactly as the GST offline tool expects.
• Numbering and sync. Deleted invoices keep their numbers after a restore, so the next invoice never clashes.
  When two devices use the same number, the other device waits up to 7 days before it offers to renumber.
• Desktop. Signing out forgets this PC's Google Drive access, so the next person can't open your Drive.
  Windows on ARM PCs now update with the ARM installer.
• App. Update now really loads the new version; screens open offline; Android Back leaves the app from the
  sign-in screen; the reminder's WhatsApp number matches; warning and error labels are easier to read; the app
  screens load faster. The template font choice is gone: documents always use Noto Sans, which prints every language.

• Windows 10/11 (64-bit): Akmo-Invoice-Setup-x64.exe; existing installs update automatically.
• Windows on ARM: Akmo-Invoice-Setup-arm64.exe.
• Linux (64-bit): Akmo-Invoice-x86_64.AppImage.
• Android: through the Play Store release that follows.

Known limits

• Everything in this version stays inside the app; reminders on your phone's lock screen come in 1.5.
• GST due dates were confirmed by the CA on 24 Oct 2026 (packages/tax-rules/VERIFY.md rows 23–28). Businesses
  between ₹1.5 and ₹2 crore turnover still get a GSTR-9 reminder, marked optional, for a return they may not need to file.
• Tamil and Hindi notification texts are drafts for the owner's spot-check.
• Guide and notification state sync through Google Drive (schema v15). Devices on an older version keep the new
  records until they update.

New

• Use your Google Drive without an Akmo account. An account used without sign-in can now sync through your own Google Drive: Settings › Sync › Sync with my Google Drive. On another device, choose Use my Google Drive without an account on the start screen. It needs a strong Owner password, not a PIN.
• Backups you can see in Drive. The daily encrypted backup is also kept in the Akmo Invoice › Backups folder of that Drive.
• Help and support. Report a problem (with screenshots), suggest a feature, follow your tickets, and vote on the roadmap.
• Updates and announcements. A banner when a new version is out, and messages from the Akmo team in your language.
• Terms and privacy. Terms of use and Privacy policy version 1, with plain-language summaries, and a Privacy centre in Settings.
• Help us improve Akmo (optional). Off unless you choose Share; never your invoices or customers.
• Guided help (from 1.2.0). Tips that fit how you use Akmo, a practice business to try things safely, a setup checklist and What's new.

Fixes

• Google and email sign-in work in the desktop app again.
• Long button labels wrap instead of running out of the button.
• The 30 read-only days after "I don't agree" now count from the day on your device.

• Use without an account. Start on this device with no internet and no sign-in. You set an Owner PIN or password and get a one-time recovery code.
• Restore from a backup file straight from the start screen, even offline.
• Automatic backups to a folder, always password-protected, alongside manual backups.
• Link Google later. Turn on Google Drive sync whenever you're online. Your local data and your Drive data are merged.
• Stop syncing goes back to device-only use and keeps your data.
