Each package includes the standalone executable, sysop cheat sheet, full save/restore guide, credits, dependency notices and build provenance. Display assets are embedded; no Go compiler, DOSBox or original DOS distribution is required. SHA256SUMS.txt covers the three archives; the separately attached cheat sheet has its own .sha256 file.
Sysop quick start
Read SYSOP_CHEAT_SHEET.md for platform-specific commands and stable installation paths. Keep persistent data outside the versioned package directory.
- Initialize once with
-data <directory> -init -seed 36. Add-dos-warps -dos-portsfor recovered map/economy rules with modern safeguards. Existing worlds are never overwritten by initialization. - Test locally with
-data <directory> -local Sysop. Configure the BBS Door32 launch with its per-node-dropdirectory, one shared data directory and a stable-systemnamespace. - Schedule
-data <directory> -maintdaily after UTC midnight; login also advances maintenance and same-day repeats do not repeat daily phases. - Use
-season-export <new-private-file>for a validated private snapshot. Follow the bundled SYSOP.md for stopped-node backups, restoration, upgrades and guarded administrative resets.
Features and compatibility
Persistent trading, planets, teams, radio/newspaper, navigation, combat, bounded NPC behavior, Genesis and administrative season exports/resets are included. DOS-style map/economy generation is opt-in; exact QB initializer replay remains research tooling.
Save schema 34. Preserve the data directory, matching binary and BBS identity settings before upgrading; older binaries cannot read schema 34. Modern saves are not interchangeable with original DOS .DAT files.
Built from ae65b0a9537ffe346448e8586a13192b8cd0895f with the CI-pinned GoDoors revision. Release validation runs race-enabled Go tests, vet, archive/architecture/checksum checks and packaged Linux amd64 initialization, maintenance, export and guarded-reset checks. Windows/ARM64 are cross-built and format-checked; verify the native BBS transport on your host before opening to callers.
