About

This prototype was developed for the research project “Educators in the Loop: Using Scenario Simulation as a tool to understand and investigate predictive models of student dropout risk in Distance Learning”, under the responsibility of researcher Rômulo Ponciano da Silva Freitas. This research aims to propose a tool that allows distance learning educators to use artificial intelligence predictive models to try to recover students at risk of dropping out, so that the educators themselves are able to understand, evaluate and question the results of the predictive models.

This research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) of the Universidade Federal Fluminense. Even so, to resolve any doubts regarding the procedures, risks, benefits and other matters related to the research, simply contact the researcher responsible for the desired form present at the top of this section.

Components

The web system consists of an interface completely developed in Javascript + React. The models were previously trained and their entire training process is described in the repository that can be accessed through the api folder. In it you will find the algorithms used for training, the entire data cleaning and processing process and the code of the API itself. The API and the models were developed using Python.

Sobre

Este protótipo foi desenvolvido para o projeto de pesquisa “Educators in the Loop: Using Scenario Simulation as a tool to understand and investigate predictive models of student dropout risk in Distance Learning”, de responsabilidade do pesquisador Rômulo Ponciano da Silva Freitas.
