Release list
RMS 1.2
Download RMS.exe below and double-click it. Nothing to install. Windows 11, 64-bit.
What's new since 1.1
- One studio window: tap drum boxes and piano keys to build a beat, set tempo and volume, then record your voice over it in the same window.
- Choose your mic and speakers right in the window.
- See your voice as you record: a live waveform draws while the take is running.
- Layer tracks: add voice and instrument tracks, pick which one records, and import backing audio onto its own track.
- Mixer: gain, pan, mute, solo and vocal presets for every track, with a live level meter per track. A fader drag is one undo step.
- Long takes play all the way through. Earlier builds could loop just the first bar of the song on playback. Old songs are fixed when they open.
- Loop with no range marked now loops the whole song; drag on the ruler to loop one part. Tempo changes keep your loop on the same beats and can be undone.
- Export your song from the studio window.
- Space works like the Play/Pause button.
- New graphite look.
RMS isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Build note: built on Windows from 3dcf31d (main) with the repo's publish settings (self-contained, single-file, win-x64). All 63 tests pass. The exe was launched on Windows and opened a song; recording with a real microphone has not been retested for this build. If it misbehaves, 1.1.0 is still under Releases.

RMS 1.1
Download RMS.exe below and double-click it. Nothing to install. Windows 11, 64-bit.
What's new since 1.0
- Voice and guitar: add guitar and vocal tracks and choose which one records; backing tracks import onto their own track.
- Every take kept: each take has its own lane with a waveform. Choose best parts lets you drag across the best part of each take, with crossfaded joins.
- Fix just one line: drag on the ruler to mark a range for punch-in, loop recording or export.
- Steadier recording: takes stay in time with a 48 kHz mic in a 44.1 kHz song; USB mics plugged in after launch show up; an unplugged device is reported, never silently swapped.
- Safer work: recording recovery after a failed save, takes finished before shutdown, and newer autosaves offered instead of being overwritten (PR #2).
- Smoother playback: loop boundaries and large audio reads render at the right frame (PR #2).
- New walnut-and-brass look, with readable menus and tooltips.

Build note: built from cba4546 (main, after PRs #1 and #2) with the repo's own publish settings (self-contained, single-file, win-x64), cross-compiled on Linux. Its bundled files match the 1.0.0 Windows build one for one. PR #2's 30 tests passed on Windows; this exact exe has not been run on Windows yet. If it misbehaves, 1.0.0 is still under Releases.
