Boltgun VR v1.1.1
Boltgun VR v1.1.1 adds OpenXR interaction profiles for Valve Index, HTC Vive wands and Windows Mixed Reality controllers, with corresponding stick/trackpad, face-button, trigger, grip, pose and haptic mappings.
- Keeps the existing Oculus Touch profile byte-for-byte identical, including the configuration previously verified with PS VR2 Sense.
- Adds guided setup choices 3/4 for Quest, Index, Vive and WMR, which leave SteamVR's application bindings unchanged. Choices 1/2 keep the PS VR2 Sense Options/Create adaptation.
- Includes firearm revision 27, chainsword package 12 and Sense profile v7, plus the compiled native plugins.
- Passes offline unit, native-build, checksum, packaging and isolated installer checks.
Quest 2 / Steam Link — issue #3. The reported lack of movement/button input is not confirmed resolved. Please retest using Install or update the VR profile -> 3 (base profile), inject UEVR with OpenXR, and click the Boltgun desktop window to ensure game input focus. If controls still fail, report which OpenXR interaction profile UEVR detected.
Hardware validation. Index, Vive, WMR and Quest 2 input behavior remains unverified on the respective controllers. The Oculus Touch profile and existing PS VR2 Sense gameplay modules have not changed. The previously noted Grav-Cannon and Volkite Caliver aiming limitations remain.
Extract BoltgunVR-v1.1.1.zip and run Boltgun VR.cmd. Supply your own installed copy of Boltgun and UEVR. Check the ZIP against SHA256SUMS-v1.1.1.txt.

Boltgun VR v1.1.0
Boltgun VR v1.1.0 ships firearm revision 27, chainsword package 12 and Sense profile v7.
- Fixed-grip armored gauntlets follow the tracked weapons. The maintainer confirmed both hand positions and weapon reach in the 5 November PS VR2 Sense session.
- The original game's crosshair follows the nominal firing ray on supported weapons, including close hits.
- Menu panels stay steady as the right controller moves. A red peripheral halo replaces the large blood overlay.
- More local muzzle effects use the tracked muzzle. Owned weapon previews avoid queued pose restoration during map travel.
Known limits. The Grav-Cannon and Volkite Caliver were the only weapons reported off aim in the latest headset session, which used freeaim_enabled=1. Fresh installs default to native aim. Their experimental beam hooks are off by default. Additional chainsword contact damage, reticle persistence across transitions and the complete weapon/DLC matrix still need validation.
Download and extract BoltgunVR-v1.1.0.zip, then run Boltgun VR.cmd. The package includes the compiled plugins and setup tools. Use your own copy of Boltgun and UEVR. Compare the download with SHA256SUMS.txt.

Boltgun VR v1.0.2
Boltgun VR v1.0.2 improves guided installation when SteamVR generates an incompatible Oculus Touch controller binding. It also includes the project's new GPL-3.0-or-later licensing and third-party attribution in the player ZIP.
Changes since v1.0.1
- If SteamVR has no unique PS VR2 SystemButton mapping, uses an unfamiliar mapping path, or already assigns the required Create output elsewhere, setup now warns, keeps the existing binding byte for byte and continues installing the remaining profile. Configure Options/Create manually in these cases. Fixes issue #1.
- Add a GPL-3.0-or-later license for original project code, explicit limits for third-party material and source/redistribution guidance.
LICENSE,COPYRIGHT_AND_REUSE.mdand attribution notices are included in the player ZIP. - Update English and Spanish installation, troubleshooting and validation documentation.
Install or update
Download BoltgunVR-v1.0.2.zip, extract the entire archive, and run Boltgun VR.cmd. With Boltgun closed, select Install or update the VR profile, supply your separately downloaded UEVR injector and choose whether to enable the optional 3D modules. Launch the game and inject UEVR manually in OpenXR. If setup warns about an incompatible SteamVR binding, configure Options/Create manually.
The player ZIP includes the Sense v7 profile, 3D firearm arsenal revision 20, chainsword package 5, both native plugins and the English launcher. It does not include the game, UEVR injector or extracted game content.
Validation and source
The runtime components are unchanged from v1.0.1, which the maintainer confirmed in VR using PS VR2 Sense on 16 October 2026. The new SteamVR binding fallback is covered by isolated regression tests but has not been newly confirmed in a headset. Other controllers and some DLC weapon paths remain unvalidated.
Offline checks: 165 Python/Lua tests, 3 converter tests, four MSVC x64 /W4 /WX native harnesses, exact package hashes, and isolated installation, guided setup, snapshot and restore tests. See SHA256SUMS.txt for the archive's SHA-256 digest.
The corresponding project source for this release is the v1.0.2 tag. Original project code is GPL-3.0-or-later; third-party rights are documented in COPYRIGHT_AND_REUSE.md and docs/SOURCE-AND-NOTICES.md.
Boltgun VR v1.0.1
Boltgun VR v1.0.1 fixes the tracking crash and keeps supported weapons in 3D across save loads. The maintainer confirmed the latest corrections in VR on 16 October 2026 using PS VR2 Sense.
Changes
- Prevent recursive Sense tracking callbacks; proximity two-hand aiming is explicitly opt-in.
- Rebuild 3D firearms across save/map loads, recycled components and delayed renderer initialization.
- Recover the 3D chainsword while preserving Codex scale and calibration.
- Align approved local attached and reused Niagara effects with each firearm barrel after renderer updates.
- Safely recognize the original v1.0.0 Sense script when updating.
- Refresh the English landing page and player/developer documentation.
Included: Sense profile v7, firearm arsenal revision 20, chainsword package 5, English menu launcher and compiled native plugins. The original game and UEVR are not included.
Install or update
Extract BoltgunVR-v1.0.1.zip and run Boltgun VR.cmd. Close Boltgun before choosing Install or update the VR profile, and enable the optional 3D modules if wanted. Existing calibration is preserved. Restart the game before loading the updated native plugin, then inject UEVR manually using OpenXR.
Validation and limits
Maintainer-confirmed headset validation applies to the tested PS VR2 Sense sessions, including the latest recovery and effect corrections. This does not certify every DLC weapon, Machine Spirit variant or other controller mapping. Unhooked beam/hitscan paths and unrelated effects retain native behavior. No physical reloads or gesture-based chainsword damage are implemented.
Offline checks: 165 Python/Lua tests, 3 converter tests, four MSVC x64 /W4 /WX native harnesses, exact package hashes and isolated installation/update/restore checks.
SHA256SUMS.txt contains the player ZIP checksum. Source licensing and third-party credits are described in docs/SOURCE-AND-NOTICES.md; no blanket source-code reuse license is granted.
Boltgun VR v1.0.0
Boltgun VR v1.0.0 is the initial numbered release. Future fixes can ship as patch releases.
Included
- Sense profile v7, 3D firearm arsenal revision 17 and chainsword package 4.
- One English
Boltgun VR.cmdmenu for setup, launch, optional modules, turning, profile checks and restoration. - Player ZIP with compiled native plugins, the project banner and current player/developer documentation. The original game and UEVR are not included.
Controller bindings
The installer patches the SteamVR Oculus Touch binding generated for the supplied PS VR2 Sense setup. Separate Index, Vive and other controller profile mappings are not included or validated.
Validation notes
The current profile revision still needs a headset check. Earlier headset feedback confirmed core controls and tracked models, while firearm effects were reported incorrectly positioned. Automated validation covers source, build, package hashes and isolated installer behavior; it does not verify VR behavior. The project has no blanket source-code reuse license; see the included third-party notices.
