When a user opens a pull request from a fork, they'll be given a new option that allows the upstream repository contributors to collaborate with them on their new branch.

I pushed a patch with my own edits. The biggest changes were:

  • Changed the intro from saying "Rust's slogan is ..." to "Rust is a systems programming language with a focus on reliability, performance, and concurrency". Personal preference mostly.
  • Added rustup-based upgrade instructions.
  • Removed discussion of ethcore and the distinction between prod users and non.
  • Reworded some of the bits about our stability track record. Note the sentence "We want Rust to be the most reliable programming platform in the world."

My main reservation here is that it is quite defensive.
