Currently our information lives somewhat hidden in the Wiki and undergoes only limited peer review, see https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/wiki/Community-libraries.
Does it hurt to have a repository likes this?

I think this is a great idea, however I am not sure if there's enough of an ecosystem right now to do such a list.
On the other hand it may be an interesting way to expose the existing set of libraries a little more and perhaps give the community some ideas as to what is needed/missing compared to the other "awesome-" lists.
It certainly doesn't hurt as I see it.

@killercup: I think http://rust-ci.org/projects/ only shows projects registered with Rust CI. Also it is not clear to me how the information there can be edited by the community. https://github.com/hansjorg/rust-ci/ does not seem to contain them.

I know you meant creating an actual list as a github repo, I just wanted to mention rust-ci as it automatically generates a list in a similar form (even with a link to rustdoc-rendered documentation) and can be used as a starting point.

(Yes, it is not really community-edited. The package author has to register and modify her package to have it appear there (see the help page).)
