Loopcut 0.2.22 beta · 6 November 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- Copy text from the chat. Drag across any reply to select it and press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac), or copy a whole message at once.
- Paste images into the chat with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac). You can also drop a model file onto the chat to bring it into your scene.
- Loopcut can open another .blend when you ask it to. It always asks first.
- Export for game engines. Ask for a Godot, Unity, Unreal or Roblox export and Loopcut sets the scale, axes, triangles, tangents, texture sizes and named animation clips for that engine, and tells you if a model is over its budget. Jiggle and other secondary motion is baked into the clips.
- Shading check. Loopcut checks imported and retopologized models for faceted or broken shading and tells you what it found.
- Fine surface detail. Loopcut can add tiling detail normals (fabric weave, wood grain, metal scratches) from free CC0 textures, and they carry into engine exports.
Fixed
- Chats come back after a crash. A recovered or reopened file brings its conversation back, and History lists all your chats.
- Backups no longer fill your disk. Restore points have a size limit you can change in Preferences, and the oldest scene copies are cleared first. When space is low, Loopcut tells you instead of stopping your build.
- You can find what Loopcut saves. Files go next to your project, or to Documents/Loopcut for unsaved work. The chat shows where each one went, with buttons to open it or its folder.
- ChatGPT hiccups no longer end a build. Brief errors are retried, and a dropped reply offers Try again. Where ChatGPT isn't available, you can carry on with Loopcut Fast.
- When your ChatGPT plan and your free credits run out together, one card shows when ChatGPT resets and what you can do now.
- Loopcut no longer stops right after announcing a step, in more languages.
- Paid tools ask once. The first time, you see the price and confirm. Photos are checked before photo to 3D, so a bad photo doesn't waste credits.
- After an update, if Blender still has the old version loaded, Loopcut asks you to restart and keeps the message you were typing.
- Builds that use Geometry Nodes no longer fail when Loopcut's helpers put their work together.
- A message you type while Loopcut is working always gets an answer.
- Long fix-up loops check in with you, and Loopcut no longer redoes the same shot over and over. It says what's left instead.
- "Render it" notices when the camera misses what you just made. Imported models come into view, picture to 3D shows how long it's taking, and after Turn it into 3D Loopcut carries on with the rest of the plan.
- Helper plans stop after a few failed tries and Loopcut carries on itself. It no longer says "Done" for checks it didn't run.
- Motion on a character keeps its standing height.
Known issues
- Pasting an image marks your file as changed and adds an undo step. Blender does this when it reads an image from the clipboard.
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
