Changes since 0.7.1-linux.1
- The project's own MIT notice now ships in the build. MIT asks that the copyright notice travel with every copy, and the packaged app carried Electron's, Chromium's and the LGPL text but not DataElement's. Not Linux-specific: the macOS and Windows artifacts have the same gap.
- katex's build scripts are excluded. They never run, and they made the package read as needing Python and Perl.
Changes since 0.6.3-linux.1
- Rebased onto upstream
v0.7.1. The bundled Harness moves from0.1.1-rc.2, pulled from the registry, to0.1.2-alpha.1, vendored as a local tarball. - Dropped a patch fix that upstream resolved on their own during the version bump.
- Removed upstream's release workflow. It triggers on
v*tags, which is what a Linux release is tagged, and would start a macOS and Windows signing pipeline that has none of its secrets here.
Arch Linux
Install the attached package with sudo pacman -U, or build from the recipe in packaging/arch/ with makepkg -si. The recipe sets the Chromium sandbox helper setuid, supplies the desktop entry and icon the tarball does not carry, and installs to /opt/dsh-desktop.
Not on the AUR: new-account registration has been closed since the 2026 supply-chain attacks. The recipe is kept in the layout an AUR repository expects.
Known limitations
- Automatic updates are off. There is no Linux update feed, so Check for Updates reports that rather than failing. Upgrade by installing the next artifact.
- The tray, the custom title bar, and close-to-tray remain Windows-only. A Linux window uses the native frame and the native application menu, and closing it quits the app.
- Building the
pacmantarget on Arch needslibxcrypt-compat; the bundledfpmships a Ruby linked againstlibcrypt.so.1. - Phone pairing was not exercised against this Harness version. The local Harness URL now carries a
?token=parameter that it did not before.

What is in this build
- Linux packaging targets, with
desktopNameandsyncDesktopNameset so a running window matches its launcher instead of showing a second, iconless entry. - A fix for the
patch-packagefailure that brokenpm cion every platform: theOpen in Finderchange shipped as a patch named for0.1.0-rc.8while the pinned dependency is0.1.1-rc.2, so it failed and took the four patches after it down with it. LICENSE.lgpl-3.0.txtandTHIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.mdat the application root.sharpbundles a prebuilt libvips under the LGPL and ships no license text of its own; these cover it and name the corresponding source.
