GraphCode for Windows: invitation-only preview (0.1.83-windows.beta30)

This is a substantial, unsigned parity preview for invited Windows testers. It is not a stable release and is not yet parity-complete with macOS.

What changed since beta29

  • Added inline Wire it up and Mark as entry recovery controls for incomplete graph cards.
  • Made terminal tab, pane, split, and New Tab chrome scale correctly at high DPI.
  • Improved mounted-tab reliability, UI Automation SelectionItem events, and PTY resize behavior during startup.
  • Corrected cycle-card hierarchy so Inspect and the reason text match the intended information structure.
  • Strengthened C8R qualification lifecycle and cleanup, including the canonical focused 11-scene DPI192 evidence path.

These changes materially advance Windows parity, but they do not complete it. Paired macOS evidence and other rows still marked Partial in the parity ledger remain outstanding. Automated build, package, contract, and capture results do not establish complete live visual parity, physical keyboard behavior, screen-reader conformance, daemon continuity in every environment, or every hardware/DPI configuration.

Download and verify

Download both assets:

  • graphcode-windows-x86_64.zip
  • graphcode-windows-x86_64.zip.sha256

Expected ZIP SHA-256:

deeeb7a543643e92ec8ac7654be37ae472ccfb34a127651cb2dba73bb587722a
$expected = (Get-Content .\graphcode-windows-x86_64.zip.sha256).Split()[0]
$actual = (Get-FileHash .\graphcode-windows-x86_64.zip -Algorithm SHA256).Hash.ToLower()
if ($actual -ne $expected) { throw "Checksum mismatch" }

The checksum detects download corruption. It does not authenticate the publisher because this preview is unsigned.

Install

Expand-Archive .\graphcode-windows-x86_64.zip -DestinationPath .\graphcode-preview
powershell.exe -NoProfile -File .\graphcode-preview\GraphCode\GraphCode-Setup.ps1 -Command Verify
powershell.exe -NoProfile -File .\graphcode-preview\GraphCode\GraphCode-Setup.ps1 -Command Install
  • Setup installs per user to %LOCALAPPDATA%\GraphCode\current.
  • No administrator rights are needed.
  • User data remains in %USERPROFILE%\.graphcode.

Updating from an earlier preview

The packaging gate exercised install, locked upgrade, upgrade, rollback, scheduled-daemon recovery, standalone setup, and uninstall with the beta30 package. A specific installed beta29-to-beta30 walkthrough was not run. For the lowest-risk preview path, close GraphCode and its terminal sessions, uninstall the previous preview, then install beta30. User data is preserved by default.

powershell.exe -NoProfile -File "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\GraphCode\current\GraphCode-Setup.ps1" -Command Uninstall

Known limits

  • Unsigned: Windows SmartScreen or organization policy may warn about or block the package. Do not bypass security policy.
  • Invitation-only preview: this build is for early testing, not production use.
  • Visual qualification remains partial: the focused DPI192 capture evidence does not replace a paired live Windows/macOS walkthrough.
  • Hardware and environment coverage remains limited: no general mixed-DPI, touch/touchpad, physical-input, or hardware claim is made.
  • Accessibility: UI Automation contracts were exercised, but no complete screen-reader-conformance claim is made.
