Rift Apart VR 1.1
Rift Apart VR 1.1: Clank's Space & Frame Warp
New: Clank's Space & Frame Warp (Performance tab, first row; this was Stereo / Alternate Eye Rendering)
- Draws one eye each frame and rebuilds the other, for a big speed-up while the game keeps running at full rate.
- Depth Based rebuilds the missing eye from its own last picture, moved with the game's depth and motion. Lights and glows no longer flicker between two spots.
- Moving things (Ratchet, enemies, traffic) come from the eye drawn that frame, so they keep their current pose.
- DLSS now gets corrected motion in this mode, so it no longer leaves a trail on moving characters.
MotionFix=0inRiftApartVR.initurns this off if you want to compare. - Sharper outlines and cleaner edges around moving characters.
- Basic still shows the other eye's last picture as it was. Off draws both eyes every frame (native, the default).
- Needs DLSS chosen in the game. Not with frame generation.
Fixes
- Button prompts next to Ratchet, like a vendor's, are no longer cut out of the HUD. The reticle cut-out now applies only while aiming.
Install: unzip, run Install Rift Apart VR.bat, type 1. Updating from 1.0 the same way keeps your settings.
Rift Apart VR 1.0
First public release. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in true stereo VR through OpenXR. Both eyes are drawn from the same game tick, with no alternate-eye rendering and no warping by default. Third person, played with a gamepad, in a solid 3D world that stays level around you.
What's in it
- Native stereo with DLSS in both eyes
- Splash screens and menus on a flat screen in front of you, the world in full 3D, cutscenes in 3D
- The game's own HUD on a panel you can move closer or farther
- In-headset menu in the game's style, with sections, a short explanation of each setting and click sounds. Hold both sticks to open it
- Optional extra speed: frame generation through OFXR-BRIDGE (Optical flow, DLSS-G or Hybrid, 2X or 3X), or Alternate Eye Rendering (Depth Based or Basic)
- Follows SteamVR's and Virtual Desktop's recenter
- Installs with one bat file, and uninstalls the same way. No game files are changed
You need
- The Steam version of the game (3.630.1.0)
- A PC VR headset with a 64-bit OpenXR runtime: SteamVR set as your OpenXR runtime, or Virtual Desktop's VDXR
- A gamepad
- For DLSS in both eyes, an NVIDIA RTX card
Install
Unzip RiftApartVR-1.0.zip, double click Install Rift Apart VR.bat, and type 1. Then set the game's graphics as the README's Game settings section says: most of all, Texture Quality Medium or High, not Ultra.
Please read
- Tested in real headsets on two setups: Pimax Dream Air through SteamVR, and Meta Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop's VDXR, with an RTX 5090. Other headsets and graphics cards should work but have not been tried. Reports are welcome.
- Frame generation and Alternate Eye Rendering cannot be used together; the menu greys out whichever one is blocked. Turning frame generation on from Off needs a restart.
- Alternate Eye Rendering, Depth Based can make small bright lights flicker between two spots. Basic does not, but judders more.
- One scripted ride can hang the GPU when its zoomed in cutscene shots are drawn in 3D. Cutscenes on a screen is set to Zoomed shots by default, which avoids it.
- The mod is not signed, so Windows may warn you, and Smart App Control can block it.
- If something goes wrong, please attach
