Learn about vigilant mode.

Desklamp is a tiny macOS menu bar app that keeps your Mac awake. The menu bar icon is a desk lamp whose beam ages over a long session.

Install

Download Desklamp-1.0.dmg or Desklamp-1.0.zip from this release and drag Desklamp.app to Applications.

On first launch, macOS blocks the app because it isn't notarized. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. In the dialog that follows, click Open Anyway again and enter your password.

Or with npm (coming soon):

npx @seansmithworks/desklamp

No permissions. No network. Nothing collected.

Requirements

macOS 14 or later.
