Here’s my thoughts on creating new users. Users can be created from
JSON file import
Social Login
Registration
Admin console
JSON File Import
For JSON file import, everything about the user can be specified. Username, first last name, attributes, and all credentials.
Social Login
A social login will implicitly register the user.
Registration Page
For Registration, I’m thinking of the following page flow:
Page 1: Name, email
Page 2 and beyond.
There will be a dedicated page per credential type. Each page will have directions on how to set up the credential and the ability to set up the credential. After completion of each credential type, a new page with the next credential type will be shown. IMO, its impotant to have a page per credential type. Some users will require Client Cert only, some password only, some password + totp.
From Admin Console
Admin enters username, name, and email. On submit, an email is sent to the user with a URL pointing to Page 2 of the Registration Page so that they can set up their credentials.
