Cigarette, drinks, and readouts.

New

  • Lit cigarette instead of a laser beam. Aim it; the dot lands on the panel.
  • Take a drag: hold it to your mouth, the ember burns up, pull away and you
breathe out a cloud two seconds later.
  • It burns down over 15 drags and grows ash you can flick off with a jerk of
the hand. At the butt you flick it away and light a fresh one.
  • Three drinks in the other hand, 15 mouthfuls each: lager, martini, old
fashioned, then round again. Tip one to your mouth and it pours.
  • The liquid stays level as you tilt the glass and slops when you move.
  • Smoother frame times: fewer, thinner smoke puffs, no per-frame allocation.

Install
Unzip into your Liar's Bar folder so BepInEx lands on top of the one already
there. Needs BepInEx 6 bleeding-edge IL2CPP win-x64 installed first.

Full instructions in START-HERE.txt inside the zip.

Liar's Bar VR 1.0.0

Liar's Bar, in a headset. You sit at the table, look around the bar with your head, play with VR controllers.

Install takes about five minutes BepInEx first, then this. Full walkthrough in the README, and there's a START-HERE.txt inside the zip with every control listed for all four games.

What you get

  • Real stereo VR through SteamVR. Your head owns looking up and down, the game keeps left and right, so nothing fights you for your view.
  • Controls that switch themselves. Liar's Bar is four games sharing one bar and they don't share a control scheme. The mod works out which one you're sitting at and changes the whole layout to match.
  • A controls card in the headset. Push the left stick left and the current game's buttons appear in front of you. Push it again to page through the others so you never have to memorize anything.
  • Neon readouts for the numbers that decide your bet. In Dice, the count and the die face you're bidding. In Slots, the bet you're choosing, named in full — 1 HEART, 2 HEARTS, 3 HEARTS, JACKPOT, PASS. These are the numbers you genuinely can't read from inside a headset.
  • Menus that work. The laser drives the real mouse, so lobbies and settings are usable without taking the headset off.

Install

  1. Get BepInEx 6 bleeding-edge, win-x64, IL2CPP from builds.bepinex.dev and unzip it into your Liar's Bar folder.
  2. Launch the game once, wait a minute or two at the menu, quit. It looks frozen. It isn't — BepInEx is reading the game, and it only happens once.
  3. Unzip LiarsBarVR-1.0.0.zip into that same folder.
  4. Start SteamVR, then launch the game.

To uninstall, delete BepInEx/plugins/LiarsBarVR.dll. Saves are never touched.

Known rough edges

  • In Slots, the death spin is meant to bring the flat screen up on its own and doesn't do it reliably yet.
  • Tested on a Quest 3 over Virtual Desktop. Other headsets should be fine, but haven't been.

Hit a problem? Open an Issue and attach BepInEx/LogOutput.log — it records which game was detected, every key sent, and a frame rate line every thirty seconds, so most things are obvious from it.
