Flow Launcher 0.10.8

  • Video wallpaper now holds its place instead of restarting, and Recents keeps it playing so the Home card hands over smoothly.
  • In Control Center, pressing Photos or Video again skips to the next wallpaper.
  • Opening Control Center over an app now pauses what's playing.
  • The dock's glass refracts more, and stays sharp over 4K video. Control Center's Clear Glass now matches the dock.
  • Tiles get tvOS-style depth: a measured shadow, a gentle curve, a soft warmth, and a silver Settings tile.
  • New Flow toast: brief messages appear on a frosted platter in the top-right corner.
  • Up Next's header is shorter, so the rows start higher on screen.
  • Fixed: Flow Clock no longer crashes on a video it can't open. It skips to the next one instead.
  • Fixed: starting the screensaver from Back no longer brings Settings to the front.
  • Fixed: the glass on the dock and the Recents Home card no longer breaks while sliding or scrolling.

Flow Launcher v0.10.7

Flow Launcher 0.10.7

  • Fixed: after installing 0.10.6, Google TV's app list showed a Search icon in place of Flow. Flow appears under its own name again, and Search and Up Next stay as tiles on Flow's Home.
  • Fixed: the welcome screen no longer pops up when you press Home after using Android's Settings, including when you open Settings from Recents.

Also includes everything from 0.10.6: Flow Keyboard, tvOS-style Search, Up Next, Button mapping's Send a key, and the Recents improvements.

Flow Launcher 0.10.5

  • Control Center in three tabs, as on tvOS: Home scenes, the controls, and Profile. Hold Home in an app to open it over the app, which keeps playing.
  • Control Center's Home tab is now just Light, Dark, Photos and Video. Photos and Video rotate through the photos, or the videos, you picked for Rotate, or Flow's own if you picked none. The tiles take on the new wallpaper as it changes.
  • Flow's own wallpapers: Flow Photo and Flow Video (a seamless looping video), each in a light and a dark version that follows the look. A new install starts on Flow Photo.
  • A slimmer Wallpaper page: Flow Photo, Flow Video, Your Photo, Your Video and Rotate.
  • Flow Clock screensaver: show your Rotate photos and videos, only the photos, or only the videos (Settings → Screen Saver → Flow Clock shows).
  • Flow Clock's time is smaller, in Flow's own font, with two-digit hours (05:15), and the date sits neatly under it.

  • Set Up Shizuku's pairing step now pairs the first time. 0.10.3 could read the pairing code but not the address that appears just after it, so it kept waiting at Pair.

Flow Launcher 0.10.3

  • Set Up Shizuku's pairing step now works: Flow reads the TV's pairing code (Wireless debugging › Pair device with pairing code) and pairs by itself. In 0.10.2 it couldn't see the code on the screen, so it waited at Pair.
  • Control Center no longer opens by itself after you change the look, glass or effects.

Flow Launcher 0.10.2

  • No computer needed for Shizuku. Flow now sets up and starts Shizuku itself: Settings → System → Unlock More Settings → Shizuku → Set up (or Set up Shizuku during first-run setup) walks you through a few one-time steps. They are: get Shizuku, turn on Developer options and Wireless debugging, then choose Pair device with pairing code. Flow reads the code, pairs, and starts Shizuku; choose Allow once when Shizuku asks.
  • After every restart, Flow starts Shizuku again by itself, about a minute and a half after the TV comes on. The TV needs to be on Wi‑Fi.
  • Clock format for Home's time pill: Settings → Home Screen → Clock offers 12-hour with AM/PM, 12-hour, 24-hour or Automatic, and the pill fits the time.
  • Clearer, steadier text: one medium weight throughout Flow, sharper in Settings.
  • Smoother Settings: no more banding over the wallpaper, the focus no longer jumps when you scroll quickly (even right after opening Settings from Control Center), and switching between Light and Dark happens in one step.
  • Changing the look, glass or effects no longer makes Home flicker as you return to it.
  • After a restart, the welcome screen fades smoothly into Home instead of stuttering.
  • Clearer wording in setup and Unlock More Settings: Shizuku is optional, and Flow works fine without it.

  • Get Shizuku now works on TVs. Google Play lists Shizuku for phones only, so a TV's Play Store called it incompatible. Get Shizuku, in first-run setup and in Settings → System → Unlock More Settings, now downloads it from its developer's own releases on GitHub. Flow installs it only if it's the genuine Shizuku, signed by its developer, and the TV asks you to confirm. The first time, the TV asks you to let Flow install apps.

  • Flow Settings now covers the TV itself, in tvOS's order: Video and Audio, Screen Saver, Remotes and Devices, Network, Apps and System, alongside Profile, Appearance and Home Screen. Settings sits on your wallpaper as the app grid shows it: pale glass and dark text in the Light look, smoky glass in the Dark.
  • Change resolution (with a 15-second "Keep this resolution?"), surround sound, match frame rate, HDMI-CEC, the screen saver and its timers, date and time, time zone and language, without leaving Flow.
  • Pair remotes, controllers and headphones in Flow, with no Android pop-up, and forget paired devices. Join and switch Wi‑Fi networks in Flow, with a confirmation before leaving the current one.
  • Apps: each app's page can force stop it, clear its cache or data, or uninstall it. App Info and Delete App in Home's long-press menu open it.
  • Flow Only (System → Google TV Home): turns Google TV's own Home off, so the TV starts straight into Flow and comes back to Flow when an app closes. Keep brings Google TV's Home back.
  • Control Center (hold Home): Wi‑Fi shows its network, Audio shows where sound goes, a Now Playing row plays and pauses, and Restart is a button.
  • Shizuku: with the free Shizuku app running, Flow can change everything above itself. First-run setup and Settings → System → Unlock More Settings walk you through getting it, starting it and allowing Flow. Shizuku stops when the TV restarts; open it to start it again.
  • Flow Clock can show your Wallpaper › Rotate photos and videos: videos play back to back, photos stay a minute (Settings → Screen Saver → Photos stay), and Left and Right skip. The time comes into focus in the corner, then fades away.
  • Lists in Settings and the long-press menu glide: the white focus pill follows smoothly, and holding Up or Down speeds up, then moves several rows at a time.
  • Fixes: Flow no longer gets stuck behind Google's setup screen when Google TV's Home is off; uninstalling an app from the app grid keeps you in the grid; video wallpapers no longer stutter as Flow starts.

Flow Launcher 0.9.5a

  • Fixes a video wallpaper sometimes stopping instead of looping, mostly with large videos on TVs like the onn. 4K. Loops now dissolve reliably, and where the TV can't run a second video decoder, the video simply jumps back to its start.

  • Video wallpapers: choose a video stored on your TV in Settings → Appearance → Wallpaper → Your Video. It plays muted and looping behind Home with High Quality effects, dissolving smoothly from its end back to its start; other levels show a still from it. Opening the app grid, a menu or Quick Controls holds the video on its current frame.
  • Rotate: pick photos and videos (on separate pages) and Home shows them in turn: each time Home opens, every hour, or every day.
  • New wallpapers: eight matte colours (Matte Black, Graphite, Slate, Midnight, Forest, Plum, Oxblood, Mocha), softly lit, replace the six gradients.
  • Button mapping: give remote buttons a new job for a press, a hold and a double press, in Settings → Remote & Buttons → Button mapping. Buttons Google TV keeps for itself, like Input, Assistant, YouTube, Netflix and Star, can be mapped too. Needs Flow turned on in Accessibility.
  • The welcome screen now also greets you when the TV wakes and when you come to Flow from another launcher. It's frosted glass over your wallpaper.
  • Moving focus feels lighter: app tiles zoom less and land with a small spring, as on tvOS, and the shadow under each tile is a tight edge instead of a spread-out pool.
  • Settings' pop-ups now match Flow's look, stay clear of the on-screen keyboard, and Settings' background no longer shows rings.
