Mandata now gets who asked whom right, and a full review of the app fixed what it found.

Who asked whom

  • Only the person who wrote an email asks. You are shown as "I assigned" only on mail you wrote.
  • The people asked are the ones the greeting names ("Dear Ellenor, Yolanda and Mona": all three), plus anyone a sentence asks by name, even when they are only copied. To and Cc only tell Mandata who each name is, so a misspelt or short name ("Ellenor", "Ni") still finds the right person. When the greeting names nobody, everyone in To is asked.
  • A forward with no note of its own passes on someone else's request: it stays between the people it was first written to. An email forwarded as an attachment is now read too.
  • Being named in passing (a panel list, a thanks) is not being asked.
  • Where the rules and the AI disagree on who asked whom, a short second look at that one email decides; when it cannot tell, the task is kept and marked Not sure.
  • Your existing tasks were checked again once with these rules.

Tasks

  • A task you reopened is no longer closed again by an older email.
  • A request made again after the first was finished ("the monthly report", next month) is a new task, not the old one reopened.
  • "By Friday" is counted from the email that says it. A meeting date is never taken as a deadline.
  • A review that doubts a task now marks it Not sure instead of removing it.
  • A real request from someone going on leave is no longer taken for an automatic reply.

Mail

  • Mail that reaches Outlook or Thunderbird late (after the computer was offline) is no longer missed.
  • Large IMAP mailboxes no longer stall, failed connections no longer pile up, and replies that only name their parent stay in the right thread.

Safety and privacy

  • Saving is safer: a failed disk write no longer loses changes.
  • Phone access listens only on the network you chose, checks every request, expires after 30 days of no use, and can no longer change who an email goes to.
  • Fonts ship with the app: the screens and exported documents load nothing from the internet.

Screens

  • Overview figures now match the lists they open. Dark mode fixes. "+N" counts only the other people asked.
  • Undo puts back only what that action changed.
  • Faster: the task list loads compressed, and the AI model stays loaded while threads are waiting to be read.
