Blocktime 1.2.1
Blocktime is a focus timer disguised as a flight. This is a beta for friends, not yet on the Play Store.
What's new
- The route challenge from Stuttgart to Lubango is now called Flight to Lu.
- A developer tool for adding flights to the logbook. It only works from a computer the phone is connected to over USB with debugging allowed, so nothing changes for you.
Everything from 1.2.0, including shared challenges, is unchanged. The room server is still run by the developer (silas-270) on Railway at room-server-production-253f.up.railway.app; see PRIVACY.md.
Install
- On your Android phone, download Blocktime-1.2.1.apk below.
- Open the downloaded file. Android will ask you to allow your browser (or file manager) to install unknown apps. Allow it, then go back and tap Install.
- If Play Protect warns that the app is from an unknown developer, tap More details → Install anyway.
Requires Android 8.0 or newer on a 64-bit phone.
Updating
Installs over 1.2.0 or 1.1.0 and keeps your logbook.
Blocktime 1.2.0
Blocktime is a focus timer disguised as a flight. This is a beta for friends, not yet on the Play Store.
What's new
Shared challenges. Fly a challenge together with up to five friends through a six-character room code:
- Race a route: whoever arrives first wins, and everyone sees where the others are.
- Pool a distance, set or streak goal: every pilot's flights count toward the crew's total, and a streak breaks if anyone misses a day.
- Open a challenge and tap Share challenge to get a code, or enter a friend's code under Have a code? when starting a challenge.
Sharing is off by default. Turn it on in Settings → Shared challenges. With it off, the app contacts no server and works exactly as before. Everything still works offline: flights you land without a connection are sent the next time you are online, and a shared challenge carries on as a solo one if the server ever goes away.
Also in this release: challenge percentages read the same on every screen, and the app now notices when a VPN is connected but the phone itself has no internet.
Privacy
The room server for this build is run by the developer (silas-270) on Railway at room-server-production-253f.up.railway.app. It only receives your pilot name, pilot code and your progress on the challenges you share, and only while shared challenges are switched on. See PRIVACY.md for what is stored and for how long.
