Multi-arch image (amd64 + arm64). Quick start: https://localsky.io/docs/getting-started

Fixed

  • Sunrise scheduling and forecast icons respect local dates across the date
line, fractional-hour timezones and polar seasons, including brief daylight
at the start or end of polar night, with improved solar math.
  • A missing sunrise no longer labels continuous daylight as "polar night".
Irrigation explains when a fixed-time schedule is needed.
  • Unknown weather codes no longer display clear skies; partly cloudy nights
use moon icons and heavy showers no longer show lightning.
  • Sky estimates reject stale/future data and invalid or unlocated lightning.
Reported clouds take priority over sunlight estimates, which no longer claim
a measured cloud percentage. Low visibility does not automatically mean fog,
and a cold thermometer does not establish snow or sleet.
  • Current sky conditions keep updating during sensor silence and immediately
reflect forecast changes. The weather card explains reported versus estimated
conditions without confusing them with the temperature's source.
  • Feels-like temperature includes NWS low/high-humidity adjustments. Wet-bulb
estimates stay unavailable outside their usable range, and unavailable derived
readings no longer break the browser's live stream. Derived temperatures need
fresh inputs; missing humidity and wind no longer stand in for measured zeroes.
  • The current conditions card and the Home Assistant weather entity judge the
sky the same way, from every source a deployment has, with or without a
weather station. Day and night follow the sun at your location rather than
how bright it is, so an overcast morning reads as cloudy, not "Calm night".
  • At night, and on installs without a light sensor, sky cover comes from
cloud reports: a nearby NWS station's cloud layers, a provider's current
cloud cover, or the forecast hour. When nothing reports the sky, the card
says so instead of claiming a clear night.
  • Current precipitation and nearby lightning use fresh observations. Forecast
cloud and fog fallback is labelled; a forecast chance of storms alone does
    not display a current thunderstorm.
  • Forecast cloud cover is unknown rather than 0% when a provider gives none,
and NWS forecasts now include hourly sky cover and visibility.
  • Updated the yanked chacha20 and wnaf dependencies to compatible patch
releases. Existing upstream advisory exceptions remain documented.
  • Hourly forecast icons switch between day and night at local sunrise and
sunset instead of at fixed 06:00 and 20:00.

Added

  • The weather snapshot API adds sky, cloud_cover_pct and visibility_mi
    (API 2.5.0).

Installation verification

The HACS update and restart passed on Home Assistant 2026.10.0. Actual amd64 HAOS/Supervisor upgrade, fresh setup, ingress, companion discovery on HA 2026.10.1, restart and backup/restore checks also passed. See the HAOS installation coverage and follow-ups. The mobile setup restart notice can overlap the wizard branding; a layout follow-up is recorded. Release tags and image digests are unchanged.
