Shortie 0.3
Download Shortie.dmg below, open it, and drag Shortie into Applications. Works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 15 or later.
Changes
- A new look with pixel icons and a violet accent. Prefer the previous style? Switch between Retro and Modern in General, or in the welcome window.
- Pixel hand icons for the app and the menu bar.
- Plainer wording throughout.
If you're updating from 0.2
Shortie's app ID has changed, so macOS asks for Accessibility permission again. Your shortcuts carry over. A few settings, such as the Hyper key and scrolling, need switching on again in Shortie.
Opening it the first time
macOS will warn that it can't check Shortie for malware. That's expected: Shortie isn't notarised by Apple yet, and all of its code is in this repository. To open it:
- Click Done on the warning.
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Shortie.
- When Shortie's welcome window asks, grant Accessibility permission.
Shortie 0.2
Download Shortie.dmg below, open it, and drag Shortie into Applications. Works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 15 or later.
Changes
- Clipboard history: larger, easier-to-read text for times, pins and key hints.
- The installer window now has a proper layout and background.
Opening it the first time
Shortie isn't notarised by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first time:
- Open Shortie. macOS says it couldn't check it for malware. Click Done.
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Shortie.
- When Shortie's welcome window asks, grant Accessibility permission.
