@kewang kewang released this 24 Oct 07:53

spekterm 0.2.18 updates itself on Linux, adds a light theme and interface zoom, and lets an agent propose a
repeating handoff. It also carries the changes of 0.2.16 and 0.2.17, which were not released on their own.

New

  • Updates on Linux. The AppImage checks this page's latest release (on by default; Settings → About),
downloads a newer version in the background and verifies it. It installs when you press Restart to
    update
, which asks like closing the window does, or at the next window close you start yourself. It is
never installed when the app is ended by a logout or a signal. On macOS the app tells you a newer version
exists and links to its release. The check talks only to GitHub
    (Data and network).
This version must be installed by hand once: earlier versions cannot update themselves.
  • Light theme and interface zoom. Settings → General offers System, Light or Dark (default System) and a
zoom from 50% to 175%. Ctrl+= / Ctrl+- / Ctrl+0 (Cmd on macOS) and Ctrl + mouse wheel zoom from
    anywhere, terminal included.
  • A workspace summary in the main stage's header. It counts every session in the workspace by state —
needs you, working, idle, hibernated and so on — and each count takes you to the next session in that state.
The header no longer shows the folder's path.
  • Repeating handoffs. An agent can propose a handoff that repeats on a schedule. It opens nothing until you
approve it in the inbox's Schedules tab.

Fixed

  • A scheduled occurrence whose folder has left the workspace no longer names another folder.

Known limitations

Unchanged from 0.2.15, except that Linux now
updates itself: remote access needs the phone to reach your computer (no relay); on macOS a session's working
directory is not read (#67), idle shells are not hibernated automatically (#68), the font setting offers only
the system default (#69), and Ctrl+↑ / Ctrl+↓ are taken by Mission Control (#71). The Mac app is signed ad
hoc, not notarized: the first launch needs System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, and it does
not update itself. No Windows or Intel Mac builds
(install guide).
