Unicorns Can Talk 0.1.1
- Now on the Mac (macOS 12 or later, Apple Silicon): the same dictation, punctuation, voice
commands, dictation box, transcription and skins. Shortcuts are pressed the Mac way (Ctrl+C
becomes ⌘C). The welcome asks for the microphone and Accessibility; Settings > General has
"Mac permissions…" and "Start when I log in to this Mac". Word commands and proofreading stay
Windows-only for now. - Transcripts in paragraphs where the speaker paused: a pause of 2 seconds or more after a
sentence starts a new paragraph (change it, or turn it off, in the Transcribe window). - Proofread a transcript before it is saved, with the local language model and the same levels
as proofreading in Word (Windows; needs the proofreading model). - More careful proofreading, measured on a new scorecard of labelled cases: a changed currency
("25,000 rupees" to "£25,000") is refused, and titles, times and dates keep the form you
dictated ("Mr", "4 pm", "March"). Wrong edits by the recommended model fell from 16 to 4 on
the scorecard (from 14 to 1 with the 7B model). - A website with the full guide: https://unicorns-can.talk
- Wording: "this computer" instead of "this PC".
