Aidyn ReChronicled 0.2.0
Aidyn ReChronicled 0.2.0 for Linux (x86_64).
Play: download AidynReChronicled-0.2.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz, unpack it, run bash install.sh (or game/aidyn-rechronicled.sh in
place). The first start asks for your own NTSC-U 1.0 ROM (.z64) and keeps it. The README in the download
has the rest: controls, Aidyn Patch, settings.
Needs glibc 2.38+ (any current distribution), a Vulkan driver and libdbus. Contains no game data. Includes the
newly painted art (portraits, item and slot icons, button prompts, HUD pieces, the first world textures); the
HD menu and world texture packs (upscales of the game's own pictures) aren't part of it.
What's new since 0.1.0
- Sound effects in combat and while walking: footsteps, swings, hits and spells were silent; they play again.
- Shorter start: the title music now starts where it used to when the title screen appeared, instead of
playing through the skipped logo videos. - Fast-forward: left stick click (or hold Tab) runs the game at 3x; enemy turns in combat run at 2x on their own.
- Button prompts: a controls card while walking and in combat (View shows / hides it); LB / RB shown beside the
pause pages' arrows. - Newly painted art: every portrait, the item and slot icons, the button prompts, and the first world textures
(Alaron, the starting forest, part of Gwernia Castle); F2 switches it off and on to compare. Redrawn HUD pieces:
page arrows and a rope HitPoints bar. - Combat HUD at the screen edges in widescreen; the party portraits stay centred.
- Camera: up / down turns like left / right, right stick click recentres;
camera_invert_y/camera_invert_x. - Save backups: the last 20 states of your saves in
backups/.
