Architecture — Breaking Change
v2 replaces the prose-instruction model with deterministic Node.js scripts. Every /ck:* command now runs a script; Claude's only job is to pass data and display output. Behavior is consistent across model versions.
Added
commands/directory — 8 Node.js scripts handling all command logic (init, save, resume, info, list, forget, migrate, shared)context.jsonas source of truth — structured JSON with full session history; CONTEXT.md is now a generated view- Session IDs — each save gets a unique 8-char hex ID for tracking
/ck:migrate— converts v1 CONTEXT.md + meta.json to v2 context.json; backs up originals; supports--dry-run- Git activity tracking — saves capture commits and files changed since last session
- Native memory integration — each save writes a memory entry to
~/.claude/projects/*/memory/for cross-session surfacing - Unsaved session detection — hook warns "Last session wasn't saved" when detected
- Goal mismatch detection — hook warns when
context.jsongoal diverges fromCLAUDE.md - Session history —
context.jsonretains all sessions; CONTEXT.md renders a## Session Historysection displayNamevscontextDirseparation — display name preserves original casing/spacingcurrent-session.json— hook writes session ID on start for save deduplication
Changed
- SessionStart hook now injects ~100 tokens (compact 5-line summary) instead of ~2,500 (full CONTEXT.md)
- SKILL.md reduced from ~280 lines to ~50 — now just maps commands to script calls
install.shdetects v1 installs and prompts to run/ck:migrateafter upgradeuninstall.shhook removal uses ESM (consistent with the rest of the codebase)- CONTEXT.md template removed — CONTEXT.md is now generated, not hand-edited
Removed
templates/CONTEXT.md.template— no longer needed- Prose-instruction command logic from SKILL.md
