This release

Desktop 1.0.30 (build 331) · Android 1.0.8 (build 342):

  • Improved handling for apps using fallback channels (e.g. Instagram, YouTube) — they no longer hang when part of the connection is unavailable over IPv6.
  • Fixed an issue where some requests (certain API clients, git, scripts — anything that signals "done sending" before reading the response) never received their response even though the server replied in time.
  • Android: fixed a false VPN reconnect triggered when a second network appeared (e.g. mobile data alongside Wi-Fi), which used to cause random disconnects.
  • Fixed the session timer not resetting after switching servers.

This release

Desktop 1.0.29 (build 330): SberPay now opens as a QR code right inside the app window instead of a separate browser window. Also fixed cases where SBP showed a payment error — our payment provider's bank stopped accepting it, SberPay is offered by default instead.

Android 1.0.7 (build 341): fixed SBP payments — our payment provider's bank stopped accepting SBP ("payment method not available"). Balance top-ups now go through SberPay instead.

What we've built so far

Oxyn has had a lot of work go into it since 1.0.0. Here's the bigger picture, grouped by what it actually means for you:

Privacy & no-logs

  • No IP geolocation lookups and no per-connection destination logging — we don't need to know where your traffic goes to run the service.
  • No-logs account model: no phone number required, email + password only.

Staying connected where VPNs get blocked

  • Our own protocol (built on the Noise framework) instead of relying only on off-the-shelf VPN protocols, specifically designed to blend in as regular encrypted web traffic.
  • TLS handshake fingerprint now mimics a real Chrome browser (uTLS), closing an easy way to automatically detect and block VPN traffic.
  • Each server now presents a different-looking hostname instead of one shared one, so blocking one name doesn't take out the rest of our network.
  • Fixed a false-positive security classification that had two of our servers mistakenly flagged and blocked by network security scanners as malicious infrastructure.
  • Added a QUIC fallback transport alongside our primary transport for better resilience on restrictive networks.

Leak protection

  • Fixed IPv6 leaks across Windows, Android and Linux — previously, dual-stack websites could see your real IPv6 address even while connected.
  • Fixed DNS leak protection gaps on Windows (now covers every active network adapter, not just one).
  • Added and hardened a Kill Switch that blocks internet access if the VPN connection drops unexpectedly.
  • Fixed a WebRTC/STUN leak that could expose your real IP address to websites even with the VPN active.

Reliability

  • Sessions are now checked roughly every 30 seconds — if a session gets banned, unbound from a device, or expires, it's cut off almost immediately instead of staying connected until the next reconnect.
  • Fixed a protocol-level bug where routine background maintenance of one connection could, in rare cases, drop and reconnect the whole connection pool for several seconds.
  • Added connection pooling (multiple parallel underlying connections instead of one) for noticeably better throughput on lossy or long-distance connections.
  • Fixed a server-side bug that was silently capping upload speed for everyone.
  • Fixed device-slot bugs that could wrongly burn one of your device slots on a reinstall or app reset.
  • Reconnect logic rewritten to stop giving up too early or looping forever on a flaky connection.

Platforms

  • Windows, Linux and Android apps are stable and actively maintained.
  • A native macOS client has been built and is in closed testing.
  • iOS and Apple TV clients are built and functional, pending Apple's VPN entitlement approval before they can ship.

Everyday usability

  • Device management, in-app support tickets, per-device traffic stats.
  • Purchase confirmation now shows exactly what's included in a plan before you pay, not just its name and price.
  • Pricing shown in USD across the apps.
  • Countless smaller UI/UX fixes across both apps (themes, layout, localization, stability of various screens).

What's new (Windows/Linux)

  • Fixed the English version of the website — /en and /en/apps now serve real English content.
  • Windows installer checksum is now published separately from the auto-updater's internal checksum.
