v0.93.0 — RangerTrak's own mark, and overdue check-ins
Try it at rangertrak.org — no install, no account. New here? Start at rangertrak.com.
Flagging a team that has gone quiet
Set your mission's expected check-in interval and elapsed time now escalates green → amber → red as a team falls behind it, in all three places you'd be looking: the map, the Rangers grid's Last contact column, and the Radio Log's Elapsed column.
The ramp is measured against your own cadence rather than fixed minutes — a team on a 15-minute cycle is overdue long before one on a 2-hour cycle. The default 30 minutes turns red at 90. Set it to 0 if your mission has no fixed cycle, and elapsed times stay plain text rather than the app inventing a cadence nobody agreed to.
A ranger who reported once and then went silent is now flagged too; previously the badge was a side effect of drawing trails, so a single check-in produced nothing.
It will not beep or interrupt. It is there to be read.
RangerTrak's own mark
The app's icon was Material's "explore" glyph — effectively a copy of Safari's compass. It is now RangerTrak's own mark: a map pin fused with a handheld radio, with the signal leaving the antenna. Rebuilt as true vector (the previous artwork was a bitmap in an SVG wrapper), with a separate simplified cut for the favicon, because the full mark turns to mush at 16px.
The installed-app status bar now matches the navbar instead of putting a blue band above it.
Housekeeping
128 unused asset files removed, 2.2 MB — including two third-party logos that should never have been in a build, and 83 raster copies of icons the app already gets from a font. Two dead code paths went with them, both of which had been broken longer than they'd been unused.
Note on version numbers: the minor version bumps rapidly and deliberately. 0.x.0 means a meaningful batch of work landed, not that this is stable and supported. The release others are actively encouraged to adopt will be 1.0.0-rc.1, and it is not near.
